I never know what to do about the bedtime bottle (5th one)... they have veggies and a bottle around 4-5 or so and bath around 6...
during the day dd cries when she is hungry but not during this feed...she loves her bottle so ofcourse if I offer it she takes it..

They can easily go to sleep without a bottle...if I give it to them they drink it...if I don't they just go to sleep until the morning..

If they would stay up later...7 or so it would give me at least 2 hours between feeds but whenver I try to do that
they just have a melt down...they need to go to bed early.

how many ounces are they suppoused to be eating at this time?

I recently went from 5 botles to 4...around the same time I introduced their 2nd solid feeding. I ended up cutting out an afternoon bottle b/c thats the one they drank the least, and I feed them solids around the same time. This is what we do:

    7:30 - bottle (7 oz)
8:30 - breakfast (oatmeal and fruit, sometimes yogurt)
    11:00-11:30 - bottle (6 oz)
    2:30 - bottle (6 oz)
3:30 - solids (meat and veggies)
    6:30 - bottle (7oz)

Not sure what the recommended intake of formula is, but I think I remember seeing something about 24 oz (I could be wrong though)...

My LO's are getting about 32 oz of formula and breast milk a day. They're only 2 mo. Is this normal? In response to the original question; My DD took 5-6 bottles til she was 12 mo. I used food more as a supplement to the bottles, than vice versa.

From birth to about 4.5 months mine finished about 40-45 oz/day. So I think 32 oz is pretty normal. Anyway, at that age you can't over feed them imo ^_^

As for the bottle question. Mine have about 4 bottles during the day [plus a nap bottle about 4 oz] and still wake once each during the night. We do solids 2-3 times a day with one snack. They finish about 30-35 oz per day as of now.

Mine went to four bottles when they were 6 months. They drank 6oz at each bottle, and we increased it to 7. They ate at 7, 11, 3, and 7pm right before bed.
I think up to 32oz a day is normal for that age, although I can't actually remember, it could be 30, but close enough :)

I started doing 4 bottles around 5 months old. Mine have a bottle every 4 hours and won't eat if I try to give them one sooner. My pedi told me to be sure mine have at least 20 oz/day. I've heard others say way more, but mine only have about 24 oz/day and are growing by leaps and bounds! They are also still on Neosure (high calorie formula), so not sure if that makes a difference with how much they drink...?

I think I started 4 bottles around 6-7 months, it was when they stopped showing interest in their 5 pm bottle, they would not take hardly anything at all.
