My sons have been good sleepers STTN since they were about 2 months.. They have always had the same basic schedule 5 bottles a day 7oz but sometimes they dont finish every bottle.. They have always gone to bed at 8:30pm and they would wake up in between 7 and 8:30am only crying for their paci once or twice a night once I give it to them they are right back to sleep. Now for the past few days they have been waking up at 2am every night and don't go back to sleep until I feed them. So I am at my wits end trying to figure out what is going on..Are they not eating enough? Are they hurting due to teeth comming (they drool and chew on everything, but no sign of teeth)? Do they need a later bed time? Or is this something that I am going to have to live with forever? Thank you for all your advice.

Sounds like it could be a growth spurt, they usually have one around 6 months, especially with them being fussy and wanting to eat. It could also be teeth, even tho you don't feel anything, and it can take months for the first one to come in!

My daughter started teething around 5 months and her first tooth didn't come in until 9 months old!

I would try to avoid actually feeding them at that time of night, because you could start a routine that you won't be able to break easily. Try using a sippy cup with some water in it instead. Cold water might even feel good on their gums if they are teething.

Also you can try Hylands Teething Tablets, I can get them at walmart here, they are a "herbal" remedy for teething, non medicinal, and they worked great with my son! You can also try motrin now that they are 6 months old for the pain!

Good luck, I hope someone else has some good ideas for you!!

It sounds like it may be teething. Have you tried a little tylenol or motrin before bedtime?

It could be a growth spurt or teething... or both! I know my two started teething at 3 months and no teeth were to be seen until 6 months! I would definately try some motrin to see if that helps. Are they drinking a whole bottle or just an oz?

They are eating a few oz not the whole bottle..I will try some tylenol before bed tonight and see if that helps...I hope it is just teething...What should I do if I don't feed them..I do not want to start a routine of this but they just scream until I feed them...How else would I get them back to sleep?

It doesn't sound like they are hungry since they aren't finishing the bottle, so I wouldn't start that habit! Since they are over 6 months, I would give Motrin instead of Tylenol, it works better for teething, IMO. Are they learning any new skills? Rolling, crawling?

Yes they are rolling all over the place LOL and trying to crawl, but not quite getting it yet. Well yesterday I moved their schedule around so they would get one more bottle durring the course of the day, I put them to bed a half an hour later, got a less bright night light so it would be darker, and gave them Tylenol before bed and they woke up at 3:55am which is better than 2:00am, but not great. So I took the advice of trying not to feed them and DS Hayden went back to sleep, but my dearest Kayne stayed awake so we battled and I let him fuss until 5:30 and couldn't take it anymore so I fed him than woke up DS H and fed him.. 5:30 is not bad since I was planning on feeding them a 6 anyway but the hour and a half long battle made me want to go crazy, but I actually feel like I accomplished something I didn't break down and feed him right away hopefully this is progress on getting back to normal!!

Sounds like you had some improvement. Like Becky recommended I would try Motrin instead of Tylenol. It lasts longer.
