glucose test

i have this tommorow morning..its not that bad is it?

 

It's never bothered me. The drink just tastes like orange pop (if you choose orange flavor). I was told just to eat normal before the test, so no 'studying' needed! I hope you pass!

 

I only did the test once (and passed... fortunately). I ate a normal breakfast and then headed to the doctors. Like the PP, I thought the drink tasted like orange soda. It was actually pretty good tasting.

 

I was really afraid of it, since I had to go 3 hours without eating, and I had barely gone an hour without eating the entire pregnancy. But it wasn't that bad. I did feel pretty woozy during the last hour of fasting, but I was just sitting in the doctor's office, so it was OK (though boring). And as soon as I drank the orange goo and my blood sugar shot back up, I felt pretty good!

 

It's not too bad. For me, the fasting for 12 hours before was bad because I am used to eating every 2 hours when I am awake. I got a bit light headed after the second hour, was told that is normal especially if you are not used to drinking sugary stuff- was made to lay down for half an hour and was fine for the rest of the time. The main thing is that you'll be in the clinic for 3+ hours, so bring some magazine, your laptop or something else to keep you entertained.

 

If you are doing the one hour it is not bad. I was able to eat a normal breakfast, just nothing with sugar in it. The drink wasn't the greatest, but it was tolerable. Then you just have to wait an hour and have your blood drawn. I had my dr. apt in that hour so it went pretty quick. It was fine, I felt a little funny from all the sugar, but nothing bad. I just had my test this morning. It wasn't bad at all - to me it tasted like sweet orange koolaid. The hard part of it is just that you have to drink 10 oz. within five minutes. Towards the end it wasn't tasting as "good" - but I made it. I also hate eggs and a piece of peanut butter toast on wheat bread. (that's what my doc recommened). Hope you pass! (Hope I pass!)
