Remember me?? I posted about my 4 year old using a pacifier at night only. Well almost everyone said to let him give it up on his own at this piont. Well, we had our 4 year old check and Dr told DS to "no more pacifiers: Poor little guy about lost it right there! Then he has to get blood drawn and 3 shots!! My poor little man.

SOOOOO I fugured I'd do it. So we bought stickers DH put his "plugs" in the nicely decorated envelope and the pacifer princess will take them to new babies and exchange them with a special prize! He has seemed finde with putting the pacifiers in the envelope and the mail box.. even excited to know he will get a prize tomorw.

Our new neightbor saew us, (I even took photo's) we stopped to talk to her- my twins are asleep. Her husband is a dentist and I fully expected to hear her say, yes it's time. AFTER we did all this she said, "really it's not a issue." I'm thinking CRAP WHAT!!!!!! I can't go back now and I am dreading tonight! And DS room is next to the twins. UGGGHHHH Her point was if he replaces it with his thumb- that is MUCH worse. She is older and she said they NEVER saw an issue with only nighttime paci use!!! My dentist is the opposite....

Give me the strendght to stick to my guns!!

Sending (((((good vibes))))) your way. My advice-- throw out all the pacificers or cut them up so there is no temptation to give in. Remember tonight will be the worst night, BUT it will get easier from here on out. You can do this. Just stay strong and do not give in. Good luck! :hug99:

OK, night one with no pacifier!! Or should I say bed time one. I made sure DS was really tired and to my complete suprise he asked if I could get one of the babies pacifiers and I siad no those are for the BABIES... and he cuddled up and said night night mommy. We talked a little about what the pacifier fairy would get for him tomorrow...

I need to go check on him.. It was so easy I almost wonder if he has one that I dont know about!!

    LOL

keep your fingers crossed for me!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks for your support

THat is great!!! I am glad that things went smoothly. My kids gave theirs up three months ago. It was rough for awhile; they never asked for it again, but they had a hard time falling asleep at night without it (naps were fine).

So TRASH those pacifiers so there is no turning back!!!!!!!

Night one down! To my shock it went very well. Honestly little/no issues. As I said last night he asked once for the twins and that was it. He is waiting for the fairy princess to bring his suprise. I need to go get that when DH gets home. :) I'm wondering if he will be demanding the pacifiers back when the suprise items wears off. Probally by tonight... hmmmm I guess time will tell!

Now I need to go break up a fight in the play room. Wow do the twins say no to wach other A LOT now@!!! 21 months

I hope everyone has a great day
