Give me my award!

I thought Meara's crying and complaining last night that her ear hurt, was an attempt to get some attention since Ana has gotten a lot for her fever/molar issues. After she refused to eat dinner and even turned down a Girl Scout cookie, I consulted with some mom friends and my best friend who is a physician, and gave her some Motrin. I still wasn't convinced it was real though. Imagine how ****** I feel this morning when she woke up with a bloody, puss-filled ear and much less pain. . We are going to the doctor later to confirm what is obviously a burst eardrum. Hand me my award for worst unsympathetic mommy. I win.

Been there.. it's hard to tell when it's a false alarm! I hope her ear is all healed up soon.

Thanks ladies. We are at the doctor now , but she has no pain and tons of energy. If not for her puss/blood-filled ear, she is the picture of health.

 

Ugh, I hate that! I've done similar with my girls (not detecting pneumonia until we were admission-worthy?!) and I still don't feel like I have too many better tools in my parenting arsenal. I always feel like I'm being a complete hypochondriac or that I'm neglecting them- no in between.

And of course she's the picture of health- you're at the doctor's office. "I swear, she was really sick until we pulled in the parking lot.."
