So I don't know what I'm having yet but before I had my first son I really wanted twin girls. I even had names picked out
Lilly and Chloe. Well then I was thinking my Granny's name is Lillian so I could name her after her and call her Lilly. I told
my mom my name choices and she wants me to name the other one Loraine and call her Lori. And then I would have the
cute two L names for twins (which is cute.. but I really wasn't wanting to go for it). And I really had my heart set on Lilly
and Chloe. I love them both ever since I was little. Should I give up on naming after my Granny and just do Lilly Anne
instead? Now I'm all confused and just want to know if they are girls or boys. I have to wait until at least the 29th to find
out. I wish the ultrasound places would do the gender determination before 17 weeks. What do you guys think?

I think you need to do what YOU are going to be happy with, not what your mom wants ;)

Personally i don't like the matchy matchy names, but that's just US!! If you like it, then go for it, but if you DON'T like it them please, go with what YOU want or forever you will think to yourself "I wish I could have named them xxxxxxx"

Names are hard, harder then I ever would have thought!

IMO Chloe is a much better match with Lilly that Lorainne, which is a bit dated. My MIL is Lorraine and she is over 60. Lillian or Lilly Anne are both good....just go with your instincts!

I agree, names that "match" is so '70's! (Especially if they're not identical). They'll each have their own personality and deserve the name that you and your DH agree fits them best.

I agree with all the previous posters......it's your choice. I love the name Lilly it's so cute. Using Lillian (Lilly as nickname) is good if you want to add a different middle name instead of splitting it into Lilly Ann, but that's cute too! Lots of luck. :D :D

    Congtratulations on your twin pregnancy!

Go with what you like, they are your children. I like Chloe better than Lorianne personally, but that is just me. Once we found out the sexes of our babies (girls) we stopped discussing names with anyone. Technically our dog is the only "family member" who knows what we may have decided on. If people ask I still tell them I haven't thought of their names yet! We decided early on when it came time to actually put serious thought into names we would stop talking about it with everyone. Everyone had opinions and in the end, it is mine and my husband's decision.

BTW we are pretty certain we are going with Abigail Leigh and Samantha Grace

Thanks everyone I deffinatly agree that we aren't going to talk to anyone about the names again until they are born. I really hope it's girls though (or at least one) my heart was always set on Lily. My SIL is pregnant too (about 5 weeks behind me) and if she has a girl she is nameing her Lillian Grace. Even after I annouced that that was what we were going to choose and the family significance behind it. She said even if we name ours that she was still going to use it if she has a girl. Does that seem kinda mean? I thought it was. O well I guess I'll just have to hope I have a girl and she doesn't.

Wow. I can not believe your sil is going to do that. There are so many pretty names out there that she could go for instead. You're ahead of her, you announced first, that name is YOURS!

I am sure once you name your baby Lillian and then she has her she will change her mind so don't get too worried about it. If she doesn't, that is pretty strange to me. I really like some names that family friends have chosen for their kids and haven't picked them because I didn't want the same name for our children and we aren't even related. Maybe she will use Lillian as a middle name instead : )
