girls bedroom

Berkley turned 7 and is slowly growing out of all things Princess-y.
Her bedrom is custom painted in sage green, pink, black and white. The walls are pink on pink harlequin on 2 walls and pink/green striped on the others.
We had 2 frog princes painted in 'secret' spots; one each for her twin brothers. Because I knew she wouldn't love princeses for ever, I had the artist paint Snow White on a canvas and Aurora on a canvas to hang so I could easily remove them when we outgrew them.

Looks like this is a good time <_<



Thankfully she still loves her room colors, bedding is a cinch to coordinate in this color scheme but I'm having trouble finding decent artwork for the walls.



I'm wondering what your daughter's rooms look like or how they're choosing to decorate them?

My girls are much younger but their room is done in Butterflies and Daisies. Nothing too elaborate though.

 

How big do you need the artwork to be? Could you buy some nice frames and put her artwork in it? Depending on what you are looking for, www.etsy.com is a great place to get nice artwork relatively inexpensively. It can be daunting to wade through, but if you know what subject you want you can narrow down the offerings.

Her room sounds pretty. Oh, how about a bulletin board? Coordinate it using ribbons and paint, and then she can put up/take down things as she's interested.

 

You could take some pics of her making different faces, turn them all b&w and frame them.

I actually was thinking of getting her some canvases and letting her paint them herself for fun . . . . hafta keep thinking.

My 7 yr olds are into posters. At this point tastefully decorated gives way to the eclectic whims of the little girls who are into cute animals, Hannah Montanna, High School Musical, and Nickleodeon characters. It isn't the way I would choose to decorate their room, but it reflects their personal tates.
