Girls and their shoes

I know there has been other posts about children with shoe fetishes. I was wondering at what age does this start happening? I bought the girls new shoe a couple days ago and Liberty wants to wear them 24/7. I caught her today trying to put them on after I had taken them off. She tried for about 5 minutes and I gave in a put them back on her. Is it normal for her to start this early or should I go build a closet for all her future shoes?

 

Sounds right on scheduele Sarah was definitely opionated on shoes even before her first bday. She was also opionated on clothes too. It was always clear though. She would sit in her stroller. I would hold up 2 shirts. She would throw one back at the rack and hug the other in a deathgrip. Sarah's toned it down abit, but is still highly opionated.

Sounds right to me too. We bought Crocs last week and Grace slept with them for two nights.

 

Mikayla has had a shoe fetish for a month now. She LOVES shoes. She has sparkly sandals, white sandals, water shoes, pink rain boots with lady bugs, white reebox...she loves walking around in shoes and putting them off and putting them on. She enjoys pretending she is wearing mommy's or daddy's shoes. She has even taken over some of Michael's shoes and loves his brown sandals.

I guess the shoe fetish for her started around 18 months. This is probably because I'm fanatical about them wearing shoes if they want to go outside at all.

Both my girls are mini-Imeldas. They absolutely love Lelli Kelly brand shoes - they have several pair apiece & love to pick out which pair "matches" their clothes for the day. I have to hide them on Sundays or they would want to wear them to church.

 

My Lily has a serious shoe fetish! I don't have a clue where she gets it...I'm very practical! She would wear shoes 24/7 if I let her. Oh and No shoe is safe either. If its out, she's trying them on to see how they look on her!

What are we gonna do when they get to be teenagers?

 

Katelyn has had a thing for shoes pretty much since she started walking!! LOL The girl can wear my high heels better than I can!! And she LOVES flip-flops at the moment.

 

As soon as my oldest DD could walk, she was wearing her shoes, my shoes, DH's shoes! Anyones she could get her feet into!! LOL!

I've started building her closet!! LOL!

 

Jade likes sleeping in her Crocs too. They are adorable purple mary jane style ones. She adores them!

 

Mine have been into shoes for a while too. They love to try to put them on themselves. It was even one of the first words they both said besides 'mama, dada'.

 

My girls (especially Sarah) started being passionate about their shoes at about that age (13 months or so). The good news is that she doesn't seem to require very MANY pairs -- just the same one or two over and over.

Right now they're both obsessed with a pair of red rubber rainboots that I bought at the twins club sale. Unfortunately we only have one pair.... Anyone have a pair of size 5 Elefanten boots, red, that they want to get rid of?

 

Both of my kids are into shoes, so I'm not sure that it's only a girl thing ;-)
