Our twin boys are Truman Alexander and Spencer Aaron. Our girl is coming in March. We want a name that sounds good with the boys' names and is not too popular. Something kind of retro?

So far my favorite is Charlotte, but I'm afraid it may be too popular. It is 100th on the list, but I think it is going to go up. It is one of the top searched names on Nymbler.

    Any suggestions?

I do like Emma, although a lot of others do too-it is currently in the top five! I wonder about Emme-seems like a nice variation.

Others on our list so far: Eleanor and Beatrix, but wonder if they are too stuffy. Lots of variations of Anna: Annabelle, Annika, Annalise.

I really do like Emme......along the lines of varations of Anna......one name my daughter had considered for a girl was Annabeth.......I think that's cute and not well known. Good luck!

You could do Emlyn instead of Emma. I really liked Kennedy but we couldnt decide on anything to go with it. We are naming our twin girls Ashlyn and Irelyn. So many names to choose from. We decided to go with the vowel thing because our boys are Evan, Owen and Avery. We also always liked the name Emily but it is so common around here. Anyway good luck.

Great suggestions everyone! I have heard some good names to add to the list.

It is hard naming girls! I though it would be easier than naming my boys, but I'm finding it more difficult-probably because there are more choices.

I like Sylvia, and Priscilla for retro names. Two names I really wanted to name our twins were Annalise (to go with Audrey), Evelyn (to go with Eleanor). But we decided not to give them alliterative names.

I love Nell or Nelly short for Eleanor - not stuffy at all! I agree Charlotte is a little too popular - over here is Australia it would be in the top 10.

    What about

    Pippa
    Penny
    Adelaide
    Delilah (Lilah for short)

I know an Emmalise - Emme for short. V. cute!

I had/have my heart set on having a girl. Hasn't happened and with my luck of getting pregnant and having boys, I don't except it to unless I adopt (I'm willing as i8m adopted too).

if I ever get my girl I'm naming her Lyric.

Since Truman and Spencer are also surnames, how about another surname to match.
Since you said you liked Emma, how about Emerson?
Addison is cute but probably really popular still.
    Kennedy like another poster said.
    or
    Lindsey

    Laylynn

you could skim the phone book to look for surnames that could be feminie first names.

I have an Amelia and I love her name. It's old fashioned, but hasn't been too common. Although lately, I've seen it a lot more.

A classmate of mine liked the name Emma but it was too popular for her so she named her little girl Eseme ( pronounced s a may). I thought that was a cute variation that made it a little more unique. Good luck.
By the way...love the name Spencer....I have a little guy named Spencer myself.

Wow! Awesome suggestions, everyone! However, now my list is even longer!

Ten weeks to go. I better start narrowing it down.

Right now my current fave is Annabel. It changes all the time!

I love, love, love Annabelle! That was on the top of my list when I was pg with our dd but I couldn't get dh to buy into the name. He thought it was too "Southern" (we live in MN). : (

Yeah, I was thinking that the "Annabel" spelling was slightly less Southern, a little more British. I like both spellings though, and I like "Annabella" also!

I like Charlotte, too, and charlie is a cool nickname for a girl.

Other names that you might like:

    Esther
Elinor (the spelling does make a little difference, in my opinion)
    Ella
    Ava (also v. popular now)
    Cassidy
    Abigail
    Anna

Here is a list of names of presidents and first ladies. You could match your Truman with a Bess :)

***A note on Corinne - anyone in my generation is going to automatically think Flowers In The Attic.
