Gift to Doctor

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone gave a gift to the doctor that delivered their babies? If so:

a. what price range/what did you give?
b. when did you give it - at time of delivery or follow-up appt? I'd want to give it before the c-section in the hospital. I figure it's a nice thing to do and might make the doctor that much more careful? DH says to give it at the follow-up appt.

i did for my ob since the girls are our last! i just gave him a announcement card for his wall of babies and a gourmet box of coo9kies and donuts! he loved them if you wanted to go farther i bet he would lovev a thermo coffee cup for all those llllllllllong days/nites at work
i waited my 6 week appt too because i brought the girls!

 

Wow, I have never thought to give a gift! Course 3 of my kids were delivered by totally different Drs. then the one I had been seeing during their pregnancies. Maybe I should consider giving something. I can't wait to read what other ladies have done or not done.

 

I arranged for my peri's office to get a basket of cookies while I was in the hospital (i had a scheduled c-section) and I ordered it online. I also gave a small gift and a card to her at my follow up appt - I was very attached to her, and I believe she saved my babies (TTTS), so I was very grateful. I still send her cards with pics in it!

After my c/s my dr. gave us little shirts for the girls that said 'special delivery by Dr. Channell' & they were super cute.
So when the shirts finally fit I took this pic of them in the shirts & mailed it to her. I also sent an announcement ~
didn't buy an actual 'gift' for her though.
