I need suggestions for the twins' 4th birthday!

I know I am getting Morgan a Cinderella costume and Reagan a Sleeping Beauty costume. We are going to Disney in Oct and I wanted to get them costumes to wear (their old ones are too small).

I am also getting them each a personalized back pack...for Disney and for pre-school this fall.

But, what else? I need some suggestions. One of my friends mentioned a Nintendo DS...umm, yeah, not spending that much to get 2 of those...lol! I did look at the Leapsters back at Xmas and that's a possibility. I need some ideas though.

The tough part it...their bday falls on Father's Day this year. So, I not only have 2 kids to buy bday presents for, but I also have DH, my dad and my FIL...it's like a whammy times 5...plus their party! YIKES! I need to start saving now!

My DD is 4.5 and we just bought her a Leapster. I was a great purchase, so that is a great idea. Plus they can use it on the plane.

She also likes pretend play. Like a Doctors Kit or Vet Kit.

Not that I have girls...but I saw that you're throwing them a party. Why not let that and the other two gifts that you mentioned be their presents? IMO, when they are little like this they really don't need big gifts. Plus they'll get gifts from the friends/family at the party.

Yeah, I know. I just feel like that is stuff I would be getting them anyway. I mean, I want princess costumes to have them wear to our character dining and I would be getting them back packs anyway for preschool...so I kind of wanted something else too, but we are SO over a ton of toys, we have way too many here. It doesn't need to be anything expensive...oh, and their party will be a bunch of people, but we are just doing cake and ice cream and some snacks. I'm not spending a ton on the party.

LOL..hey, it works for me! The best gifts are things you would have bought them anyway, and they will  those, so hey.....
But, if you want little things...coloring books and new crayons/markers, cute socks, gardening gloves (my kids always love these)...just so they have more to unwrap.

At 4 years old my oldest DD really like polly pockets. And the princess dolls that are like the polly pockets as well, Target sells them.

The Pop N' Swap Polly Pockets are the best!!! I don't have to help my 4 yr old or 6 yr old change them. And they spend alot of time playing with them. The game "How Tall Am I?" is really fun and quick. Oh and my girls love new hair accessories.

Maybe 'coupons' for trip to Dairy Queen, park, etc....my girls are really into money (coins, dollars) and love to go the dollar store. Would they like homeade 'bubble bath' or visit the zoo passes? Even a few real ones like McDs or $5 at the bookstore. You could print some up on your computer for home stuff (pizza for breakfast, extra dessert, etc)or buy real ones for places.

I know my 2 LOVE to 'shop' and purchase stuff. Just a cheap idea that may be a lot of fun in a little purse.

How about cool beach towels? My boys got one in their Easter basket and love using them. We even use them for bath time. Or cute rain boots/umbrellas/sunglasses.

i love the leapfrog Tag reader and all the books that come with it. It was actually recommended to me from her preschool teacher who raved all about it because she had a four year old herself who loved it also. There are books that you can buy that work on different skills and what not. I love the coupon idea also.

I second the Tag Reader and the leapsters. But, I also think anything that would be fun for outdoor summer fun would be cool too. A sand/water table, sidewalk chalk, gardening stuff, sprinklers, bubbles, etc.

i just bought a 1 year highlights magazine subscription for my niece turning 4-- they have a new one called hi 5 and it is geared for ages 2-6.. thought it would be cool for her to check the mail each month-- they have printable cards on their website showing what you got them.

I am the wrong person to ask. I have no clue what I'm getting my girls (and their birthday is monday) except I think I'm getting them some DS games since FIL got them each a DS but no games.
One of my BIL's got the girl disney dance dance revolution for the wii.

My MIL got the girls bikes with training wheels, not sure if your girls have them yet or not.

I need help too! I did get them some princess dresses (not the costumes) to wear next week when we do Disney and a bathing suit cover-up from Disney with their names. They want a TV for their room (nope). Another toy they have mentioned was one of those doll head things that you put make-up on and do the hair. I do plan on getting them both a game for the leapsters. No other ideas right now!

This is what I am doing for my DD. Her birthday is at the end of the month and she is having a tea party. I ordered a tea set from Target this morning. Plus we bought the 3 other girls that were invited each hats, gloves, plastic shoes, feather boas, necklaces and picture frames. My DD has so many toys and every year she has had a big party and gotten way too many things. So I scaled back this year to just the 3 close friends. I also plan on getting her some clothes. Maybe a couple of books because she loves them. But I don't plan to overspend as I have in the past.

She gets the Hi 5 and loves it. She also used to get a magazine that was about baby animals. I think it would be a little too young at this point.

I plan to get my girls a subscription to Hi5 too. They've been getting Animal Baby for a couple years now as Christmas gifts from my grandmother. I called last month and switched it to My Big Backyard which is for kids 3 and up. They love getting those in the mail!
