Hi. We need gift ideas for my 2yr old Ryan. He seems to get bored easily. Unless of course he is taking things apart. Blocks worked great for a bit...but now he enjoys climbing and looking for things to get into. He is my outdoors explorer...but inside, it is tough! Christopher will color, read, play with cars etc...

I actually will give him things to take apart...and set up little obstacle courses for him....ugh! Help!

    Anyone else have ideas?

    Thanks bunches!

I'm getting DS this and this for his third birthday... I'd like a workbench also but I'll probably wait for next Christmas so he's more likely to be able to make the schematics etc.

Wedgits! They're easy enough for young toddlers to use but have lots of possibilities for older ones. It's not exactly something to take apart, but it's definitely something to fiddle with.

Both of my boys love this (especially the one who sounds more like yours):

it's easy to put together, take apart, and seem to stay together well also. We have one set but I'm going to supplement it with another. And, if you're brave you can get some that turn into horns! I said no to that one. Both of my boys usually build big things (long straight poles) and pretend they are something else, like a vacuum is popular.

We love tinkertoys. Especially DD. They can play for a long time with them and are getting more for Christmas. Also my parents ahve a set of construciton vehicles that come apart with screws. There is a crane, dumptruck, back hoe and a couple more. I will try to find a link but you could also search for soemthign like that. They have screws and come with a wrench to take them apart. My DS played for hours with them when we visited in Sept and said it was his favorite thing about the whole 2 week visit.

ETA this is not the same set but looks similarMy link
