I have been blessed with the most amazing nurses while I've been here in the hospital and DH and I really want to do something for them. They have really become a part of our family. They come in and talk to us and have just been so supportive.

We really want to do something special for them but don't really know what. I've been in the hospital for over 11 weeks now, so I want it to be very special and something they can all use/enjoy. I'm just clueless though!

    :unknw:

    What do ya'll think?

I'm a nurse and let me just tell you. . . . it's all about the food! Where I work, We LOVE when we are surprised with a couple of pizzas or party subs, whatever! Sometimes, people will bring in a basket with gourmet cookies, hot chocolate mixes, etc. That's nice too. Seriously- -you can't go wrong with food! Sometimes it's hard to get away for lunch and it's always a very nice surprise when lunch comes to us! Hmmm. . . . now I'm hungry!

One of my patient's family brought in candles for 'her' nurses. We worked with a primary nursing focus and if you were on, you always had the same patients so we got to know them and their families really well. I still have the candle container too =).

And as PP mentioned, food is always appreciated!

But I really think it's the gesture more than anything, just letting them know you're thinking of them! Which is really great of you btw!

I ordered a Harry and David "tower" for the nurses last time - I think I'll do the same this time. I can do it online and everything.

After having the babies, DH and I bought about 10 pizza's for all the nurses. WE got all different kids and it was really good pizza. They seemed to love it.

Thanks so much for the suggestions!
So far I've looked at harry and david and also the swiss company. I really like the idea of one of the deluxe gifts.

Some type of cookie basket or some type of pampering basket. My mom is a nurse and she and the other nurses like things like that. Very nice of you!

I use www.winecountrygiftbaskets.com for things like that. I've ordered several things from them for friends and family in the past and have heard nothing but raves about the baskets and towers. They have the food towers, gourmet baskets, spa baskets and a lot of other choices in a wide range of prices.

I've been on bedrest now for 6 weeks with hopefully that much longer to go and I think this is what I will do for the friends that have been especially helpful during this time.

Forgot to mention, after I deliver my babies, I'm sending something to my OB office from Cheryl &Co the website is www.cherylandco.com

They have the best cookies! I LOVE the frosted sugar cookies. They have some really nice gift towers/tins. Some are kind of pricey but there are reasonable ones too. Hmmm, maybe I should send myself some NOW "just to make sure they are still as good as I remember." :)
