Gift for OB

Are you going to give your OB an a gift once you deliver. I have heard that some people do this and if so what are you going to give.

 

I got my OB flowers and a card. My OB was awesome! She saw me whenever I wanted to come in and did an u/s every time. Then when I was admitted to the hospital and had to be transferred to a different hospital with a level 1 NICU where she did not have privileges she called me everyday and even came to see me once a week. After my girls were born she made a special trip and visited them in the NICU. She really went above and beyond and that is why I felt the need to get her something to show my appreciation.

 

i posted the same topic a few months back. I ended up giving him a candy basket to eat in the office and a picture of him holding the girls with their birthweights and names on the back for his wall. he really appreciated it. i gave it to him at the checkup post-op.

i know the dr.'s aren't allowed to accept real gifts.

 

I never did with the twins. I did give my labor nurse a gc after Evan was born.

 

You know I wanted to do this the last 2 times and just never did, but I had also never heard of anyone else doing it. Im glad you posted. I think I would just send flowers to the office thanking all the staff.... Candy might be nice but an office full of women you know some one will be on a diet LOL.

 

I noticed that my gynae loves teddy bear cos it was all over her office, so I intend to give her a pair of boy/girl teddy bear (cos i'm having b/g twins) and I'm sure its not considered bribery right?!

 

I agree with maybe sending something for the entire office. Have you guys seen the fruit/chocolate baskets from Edible Arrangements? They are always fresh, very tasty and a big hit! I think that's what we'll probably do.

 

I sent the OB who delivered the twins a card and pic of them. Then, I took in a few dozen cupcakes from a GREAT local bakery for the entire office staff and other OB's and midwives I saw during the pregnancy.

 

We gave the OB nurses some bagels and cookies and gave my OB some Cookies by Design and pictures. We had a great experience and really love my OB.
