I had my twins about 2.5 weeks ago on 11/22 by c-section. It was my 2nd c-section (had one with my first) and it seems like my stomach is just not going down. I look about 5 months pregnant (with a singleton) and it's freaking me out! I'm usually very petite (5'4" and about 105 lbs) and am hoping it's normal for your belly to still be so BIG! I know it takes time and I don't expect to have my old body back for months, but was hoping not to look pregnant still.

Any words of wisdom out there?!
    THANKS!

I look at it this way, it took my belly 9 months to get to the size it was and that it was not going to go down as soon as the babies were born. I would say mine went down about 3-4 months, I still have a twin pooch but it's nothing major.

The post-twin body was way freakier to me than after my singletons. I guess age doesn't help either. It's way better, now, three months out, but I have the skin issue - I don't feel like it's fat underneath ALL THAT SKIN. It looks like a wrinkled elephant belly. Such a lovely visual.

But seriously, do you have any residual swelling? I had bad swelling at the end and for a few weeks after the twins were born. And I still feel like I have some swelling - for example, it's really hard to get my rings off and on. Rings that normally spin on my fingers. I relate it to the gut only because I noticed when the swelling was really bad after the babies were born, that I'd be much better early in the day (after lying down all night), but it was almost like all the fluid settled from my shoulders down as the day wore on. And I wonder if I still have a little of that? Maybe wishful thinking?

Like you, I'm a skinny girl, normally. I kind of feel like starvation (not really, but kind of) and running are the only way. And maybe developing a taste for coffee - it's a diuretic, right?

    LOL!!! That is so true!

Ironically, I wasn't swollen during my pregnancy but starting the day after my c-section I was SOOO puffy! Then my ankles and feet became crazy swollen for about a week! However, although I don't look swollen anymore in my feet/ankles/face, I still can't get my rings on! Also, both of my babies were on one side of my stomach and that side is still sticking out further than the other side! I've been wearing a post-partum support belt b/c it feels better than letting my belly hang loose, but wish it would work some magic!

I agree about dieting but I can't since I'm bf-ing! Def going to start drinking coffee or tea though! : )
    THANKS!

I agree that it just takes time. My doctor always said that it takes a year for your body to fully return to normal after giving birth (not just appearance, but hormones, etc). I would say my stomach was relatively back to normal by around 3 months, but it still isn't exactly what it was before & probably never will be.

Yep, just give it time. You had two babies in there.

I'm with you. I delivered vaginally 11 weeks ago and still have a belly. Some of it is the fat, wrinkly skin stuff...I expected that. But I also have a hard, round part at the top. I asked my OB about it and he said it is kind of like a hernia...where my gigantor uterus pushed through my stomach muscles and now they aren't coming back together. He didn't have any suggestions on how to help it either...stellar! Anyone have any tips for this?? :headbang:

Oh- and I was REALLY swollen during the end of my pregnancy and it took a good 4 weeks or so for that to go back down to mostly normal.
