The twins turned 2 in November. DD has been showing signs of wanting to start PTing for a while, DS has shown no interest and would sit in a dirty diaper all day if i let him. DD tells me when she needs to be changed, will often tell me "poopy" about 5 minutes before she actually goes. And is very intersted in me and what happens in the bathrrom on the big toilet. I would love to have them both PTed by this summer, but we'll see how it goes. I am in no hurry. So, i went out and bought the Baby Bjorn potties. One for each. Thats about as far as i got. I have no idea where to start.

Should i try to introduce DS to this as well, or just wait and see what happens?
Just how exactly do you clean a baby potty anyway?????
Do you move the pottys upsatirs/downstairs (due to bedtime/naps/etc) or just leave on the floor where we are most of the day?
    Should i buy pull ups?
Do i have to train for day and night at the same time? They still sleep in cribs and can't get out on their own.
They are both still pretty wet in the morning and i know a ready sign is they are supposed to be dry. Is DD not ready b/c of that?
Is there a good book or something that i can figure out what i am supposed to do?

    Help!

Should i try to introduce DS to this as well, or just wait and see what happens? I tried both twins at the same time, and found Emma was ready and Jake was not, so I proceeded with Emma, and waited a few months with Jake.

Just how exactly do you clean a baby potty anyway????? I dumped, rinsed, dumped again, and sprayed it with Lysol or wiped it out with a Clorox wipe.

Do you move the pottys upsatirs/downstairs (due to bedtime/naps/etc) or just leave on the floor where we are most of the day? We are downstairs most of the day besides nap/bedtime, so I kept the little potty downstairs.

Should i buy pull ups? I didn't with the twins. I found with my older kids that if they had them on, they would not use the potty.

Do i have to train for day and night at the same time? They still sleep in cribs and can't get out on their own. No. My two are daytime trained, but far from being nighttime trained. But, just to show you how different some kids are....Hannah was nighttime trained at the same time she was daytime trained, at age 2. Josh, my 3rd, was daytime trained at 18 months, but not nighttime trained until almost 4!

They are both still pretty wet in the morning and i know a ready sign is they are supposed to be dry. Is DD not ready b/c of that? No, not necessarily.

Is there a good book or something that i can figure out what i am supposed to do? I never read a book, just waited for readiness signs, put them in undies(or bottomless) and if they were staying dry most of the time, I kept going, if not, we waited a few weeks.

    Good luck!

There's no harm in letting DS sit on the potty while DD is sitting. However, if you decide to do a rewards chart, the DS definitely does not get stickers, etc., until he performs. As far as cleaning a potty, I just spray it down with bleach spray and give it a good wipe (not everytime they pee, just when I think it is in need of a good cleaning or after a poop).

Moving the potty around led to accidents at my house. The girls got used to it being in the living room and then one day I moved it and one peed in the floor because she didn't know what to do and she waited until the very last minute to pee. So, from that day, I left it in the living room and if I did move it, I made sure to take them a few times to the new location so they knew where it was. However, it didn't get moved again until they were well-trained.

Pull-ups? Well, there's pros and cons. We have pull-ups but only use them at night. My girls have yet to poop in the potty, so they will ask for one when they have to poop. If they have pull-ups on for an extended amount of time, they just pee in them, so I only use them when necessary. They are just too much like diapers, IMO.

Do not train both night and day--too stressful--IMO. Get them trained during the day, then do naptime, if they stay dry during all of that and are pooping as well, then start nighttime. I just got my girls beds and we still haven't gone there yet because they aren't waking up dry. If they do wake up dry, we go straight to the potty, but we haven't braved panties yet during the night.

As far as books, I hope someone can chime in their because we didn't use one. Lots of potty books for kids at toys r us or walmart.

    Good luck!!
