OH MY!!! I just wanted to say it is hard getting out and about with 3 kids, 1 just turned 3 and my twins are almost 10 months old, not crawling but almost there.

I haven't taken them out much at all, I can count on one hand how many times we have been out all together. We stayed in mainly because of the weather. But now that the weather is getting better, I am trying to get out more. Still haven't gone anywhere by myself with the 3 of them. I am not ready for that yet but I know it will happen.

UGH! How do you do it? Especially by yourself? I know this summer will be challenging and I will definitely keep trying, especially for my 3 year old who needs to get out.

My 3 are exactly the same age as yours and I REFUSE to stay in the house:) When we go to a grocery store or Target for example, I just put the two babies in the part of the basket where a child would normally sit and my 3 year old sits in the big part where the "stuff" would go. You can't buy very much but at least you can go out just to get out. We go to Target a lot just to get out of the house. Or if I'm going someplace where my 3 year old would need a stroller, like the mall, I put the smaller twin in the Baby Bjorn. Again, we can't stay very long but at least we get out. We went to the zoo the other day as well and when my son got tired I just put him on my shoulders to rest! You just have to be creative I guess:)

It is tough getting out with only 2, so I can only imagine how it is with 3! Actually, I babysit a few days a week (I know it's not the same thing) but I have never once attempted to take all 3 out by myself. I'll go outside or through a drive-thru, but that's it.

I have a bicycle stroller that the babies go in, they're harnesses in there and I put toys in for them as well. I also will push them in the stroller and pull the other kids in a waggon. sounds hard but w a good stroller it's not. If I only have one other kid I too will put one baby in the snugglie and push the other two in the stroller.

The more you do it-the easier it gets! We are opposites-my twins are 29 months old and my daughter is nine months old. When we venture out alone, I have her in the stroller with one of the twins, and the other twin walks. If we are in a store, I may have it so both twins are walking around. She's pretty content sitting in the stroller with some toys, or if I need to feed her, or to people watch.

Does your 3 year old still use/need a stroller? If not-then getting out can be a bit easier, in the sense that your oldest can walk along side you, or hold onto the stroller, or I tell my boys to "help push" the stroller. Do some short practice runs-at stores, walking down the street, etc. Maybe even try a park/playground.

In any case-when you do get out and about-you'll feel great-in fact ALL of you! It's a new sense of freedom, and an "I CAN DO IT!" attitude!

    Good luck!
