My guys just turned one year last weekend, and they were TTTS twins, 6 weeks early at birth. At their 9 month appointment, the doctor said that I needed to give Poly-vi-sol drops to the TTTS Donor. They've both had trouble gagging on food other than breastmilk, and they are just starting to practice with sippy cups. But the Donor is really bad about gagging. . . Everytime I try to administer the drops to him, he gags up whatever is in his tummy. (And he needs all the nourishment he can get to keep his weight up.)

Does anyone have any tricks? I've tried expressed milk in a bottle mixed with the drops, but he won't drink it all. I'm at a loss.

We had to give our boys the same drops around a year old. I always mixed it in apple sause or yogert and they never noticed.
    Good luck :)

Multi Grain Cheerios!! They have 100% DV of Iron and many other things in one serving and that's for adults so it doesn't take much for a toddler!!

We love them and OMG are they packed w/ vits and nutrients!!! I also have/had an anemic one and this was the remedy.

The dreaded poly vi sol drops! That stuff smells and tastes horrible. What we do is mix it in yogurt or applesauce, something that will mask the taste and that is the way we can get DD to take it.

did they actually do a blood test to see if he needs the extra iron? Ours didn't have the ttts.... but we did get the blood test for both iron and lead... it was horrible to get the blood, but at least we don't have to deal with giving supplements thankfully.

I hope he can just slip the vitamin in any food... oatmeal, applesauce etc.
