I know I worry too much, but I've long since given up trying to change it. I just worry and that's who I am!

Zoe has been in PT for awhile now for torticollis & some gross motor delays. She's actually doing well with the therepy & started crawling a few weeks ago! So we're very excited for her.

Johnny's never had any issues - always done stuff pretty much on time. He's on the go so much, it's hard to keep up with him! But he'll be 15 mos very soon, and still not walking. I did talk to the PT the last time she was out about him, and she didn't seem too worried. I am not really worried yet - just a little concerned. Mostly b/c for awhile he seemed like he was SO close to walking! Standing on his own really well, all the time. Now for the last 2 weeks or so I hardly ever see him standing.....and most of the time if I try to get him to walk by holding his hands, he just goes down to his knees to crawl.

He has been teething - just got a new tooth. Can this effect stuff like this?? I guess I am just a little concerned that he doesn't seem to be doing what he already was doing - at least as much.

My two walked at 14 months and 17.5 months. My later walker also had gross motor delays...they are both now in PT, for muscle tone issues, she said that until 18 months corrected age, their really is no worries! ( mine were 2 months early) I don't remember if your 2 are preemies?

During teething, one of mine tend to focus more on teeth than skills!!

My earlier walker just took a few steps one day and never looked back! Very little transition, my later walker still crawls when she gets tired....

I wouldn't worry too much, try to put toys up on a table or just high enough to get standing to encourage them to stand/pull up!

They will be walking before you know it!

Kids just develop at their own rate. My kids were late walkers, around 16 months. They were standing and cruising forever, just unwilling to let go! It will happen in time!!!

I would try not to worry too. My boys have expressive speech delays but are ahead for all other development~ But they did not walk on their own until almost 15 months! They were furniture surfing from 11 months on so we though it would be any day now. NOT. They will do it when they can! then omg life will be so MUCH BUSIER :p

Bea walked at 11 months and Ainsley at nearly 19 months, so we had a big range there. Ainsley had gross motor delays and is a cautious child, so she cruised for months before finally letting go. Don't worry about it too much, he could just be crawling for fun, or the teething is making him feel bad and he's not up for trying new things right now.

My boys didn't walk until 16 and 17 months. they have had no PT. I know it is frustrating, but I wouldn't worry too much, some kids are just late walkers.

Mine had no motor delays and walked at 17 and 18 mos.!!! I thought they'd be in kindergarten crawling!

They tend to go forward and back a number of times. You are being wise for not worrying about it! Wouldn't solve a thing, and since you already have PT, you can keep an eye on things and they'll let you know when it's time to do something about it!

Thanks ladies, I do feel a lot better! I noticed tonight he started standing on his own again, so maybe it was just the teething? I was really trying to get him to take a step towards me, and he *almost* did with one foot. :D So, I know he'll do it when he's ready.

My boys walked at 15.5 and 17.5 months. Nate (the 17.5 monther) just refused to walk. My and DH would work with him and he would take a step or two and then give up. I was starting to get worried when one day he just stood up and walked across the room.

I wouldn't worry if I were you. Kids develop and learn at all stages.

My oldest dd started pulling herself up and cruising at 4.5 months old. But, she never walked without holding on to something until 15.5 months old!
One of my twins started taking steps at 10.5 months, and walking at about 11.5 months. The other twin started taking a step or two at 10.5 months, but has yet to do anything other than cruise up to this point.
Honestly- I would rather have late walkers, those that cruise for a long time are very comfortable when they do start to walk, so they fall a lot less! My oldest just took a step and never looked back, never fell down, very balanced. My twins, on the other hand, have been trying out the whole walking thing for a long time, letting go whenever they can, and believe me, they are covered in bruises and bumps, and one hit herself so hard on the corner of the coffee table that it warranted stiches, only the stitches would have left an even bigger scar. There are always two sides to a situation...so just have a little patience (yeah, like I am one to suggest that!), and it will come in time.
