Gestational Diabetes test

When were you tested for gestational diabetes? Do they test a little earlier if you are carrying twins?

 

I'm not sure what the correct protocol is, but mine was actually later with twins than with my first singleton (same OB).

 

I was supposed to have mine at 28 weeks and that is when I had it for my singleton as well.

 

I had mine done around the same time as with my singleton, too.

 

If I remember right, it was around 26 weeks or so...I know it was earlier than 27 b/c I went on bedrest at 27 weeks and I remember doing it before I went on bedrest.

I am pregnant with a singleton this time, not sure when they will do it. I think around 26-28 weeks.

 

I think the general rule is 24-28 weeks- I have mine today, joy

 

I had mine last week at 24 weeks, that's when they do it for everyone at the practice I go to. They only test you early if there is sugar in your urine.

BTW, its not so bad--everyone talks about how awful the glucola is, but really it just tastes like over-concentrated orange gatorade.

 

I had my test done at 26wks, but I think my doctor's general rule is between 26-28 for everyone.

 

Mine was done at 26 weeks.

 

Mine is scheduled for Nov. 1st and I will be 25w4d-I hope I pass!!!
I think it is supposed to be scheduled between 24-28 weeks-same as singleton.

 

Oh man, why is my OB the only one who seems to be overly paranoid about this?! I've had no problems at all with GD with my other pregnancies, but because of the twins this time, he's having me do THREE of the glucose tests this time. I do the first one at 18 weeks.

I did mine at 28 weeks - the same as my singleton

I had my first one at 20 weeks and I am having another one hour done at 28 weeks cause they realized they did it kind of early. haha.

 

My OB does it twice for twins.. BLAH

I had the first one done at 24 weeks and passed. But I have to do it again at 28 weeks. I personally see it as a waste of time to do it twice- especially when I passed and wasn't even borderline. But oh well.

I had mine around 28w.

 

I'm scheduled for 28 weeks.

 

I did mine at 27 wks and the 3 hour one the following week.
It does seem silly to do it multiple times if you didn't have any problems!

I had my glucose screening done early this time - 18 weeks (w/ twins) as my first was a large baby. Neither of us showed any signs of trouble during the first pregnancy or when he was born, but they checked his sugar levels carefully...he was just a big boy! I think my DR did the screening early this time also b/c I was a little concerned w/ this pregnancy that I was getting large so quickly, but that's what they tell me happens w/ twins! ha ha ;-)

 

im supposed to do mine this week but i was faint at the docs yesterday so im going to do mine next week when im 27 weeks.

 

With my son I had it at 12 weeks and tested as GD. I took the 1 hour and failed and took the 3 hour and failed that.

With the twins I was 30 weeks before I got tested. It was the 1 hour and they never made me bother taking the 3 hour test just started the GD diet instead.

 

Nope...mine was done right when singletons have theirs around 28 weeks.
