my nurse told me to test at fasting (when i woke up), 2 hours after breakfast, 2 hours after lunch and then again, 2 hours after dinner.

    here's the question. LOL
do you wait until you are done eating to write THAT time down or the time you BEGAN eating. does that make sense? lets say i start breakfast at 7 but dont finish until 7:25. do i test at 9 or 9:25?

My diabetes educator told me to eat at a certain time, eat everything within 1/2 an hour and I have to test 2 hours after I start eating.

You should be testing at 9.25 ,2 hrs after you had finished the meal.

Like the PP, I was told to test two hours after I finished eating so in your scenario I would test at 9:25.

I've been told, explicitly and multiple times, that you test two hours after you begin eating, not after you are finished (so you should test at 9:00).

This is a perfect example of how every doc's plan is different. The replies you've received (and discussions in other GD threads) vary in what time they've been instructed to test and I'd bet my last dollar that their target numbers vary, too. So I'd say to just call your Dr. and ask him/her. I think it's the only way you're going to get an accurate answer for what YOU should do...and I'm sure it's not the first time they've been asked that question.
