I've seen several mentions of gerber puffs here, and today i checked the grocery store and found gerber graduates puffs, which say age 1+

are there puffs for the younger set, or is this what i'm looking for? also, they were all fruit flavored, are there plain ones? which fruit do i start with? uggggh i'm so confused!

    TIA

I recently bought some of these (the sweet potato flavor) for our 8-1/2 month olds - they haven't figured out how to put them in their mouths yet, but if I do it for them they love them and they just melt in their mouths. I tried one (I always try what they eat, I figure if I think it's gross I won't make them eat it!) and they're actually pretty good. Not much nutritional value but good for them to start figuring out more about solids, and keeps them occupied while we're trying to eat dinner. Our little guy has his 4 top and 2 bottom teeth, he was crunching them last night, it was really cute...

As far as fruits, I tried bananas, apples, and pears first. They like all of them, especially the bananas :)

[SIZE=10pt]We've tried the Sweet Potato and Strawberry Apple flavors. They LOVE them!! It took them about a week to figure out how to pick them up. They get about half of them in their mouths ~ the other half either on the floor or in their chairs.
It's so cute watching them 'chew' (they only have two teeth on the bottom) on them. :p

We started with Bananas, then applesauce ~ we haven't found a fruit they don't like (other than a mixed pear/pineapple)

I asked the Pedi for a snack recommendation for my girls and she recommended those. So I'm sure you don't have to wait until they turn 1. :D

Those are the ones. We started with the banana, since that's a fruit that people generally introduce early on.

i just bought them yesterday myself. i bought banana, apple cinnimon, and peaches. i tried the apple cinnamon yesterday and DS would pick it up and get it to his mouth but not let go lol. I gave one to DD but she just played with it. i did put one in her mouth and she gave this face like what the **** is this and acted like i was putting medicine in her mouth. which she takes medicines fine she was taking zantac for reflux and her vitamins go sraight from dropper. but she wouldn't eat these lol. i don't think u have to wait for 1 year mine r 9 months. my DS looked at them like hey whats this once he ate them he was pretty happy

MY Kiddos are in love with the cherry ones. They are also very fond of the sweet potato ones!

I second Tammy on the cherry ones. They're by FAR the fav in our house! We started the Puffs at 6 mos & they've done fine with them from the start. One or two gags, but that's it. My two LOVE them! They didn't seem to like Apple Strawberry at first, but they're growing to like it. There is also a generic brand from Walmart that I bought, but we haven't tried those yet.

I keep Puffs in my purse, in my stroller, in my van, & in all my strollers. They shut my whiney boys up REAL fast in a pinch! If they even SEE them, they're doing the wide open 'baby bird' mouth thing. It's hilarious!

Oh, and at almost 8 mos, mine STILL don't really get them into their mouths on their own. Maybe 1 out of 15 :). But they love to try!

My girls actually prefer the Wagon Wheels over the puffs- I think because they are easier for them to hold on to, they arent so great with their pincher grasp yet. As far as I can tell they are made from the same thing, just bigger, but they disolve just as quick. I started with the puffs and it was like they would get stuck to their tounges and they didnt know how to get them off so they would gag? I have strange children. Anyways they are better with the puffs now but still seem to prefer the wagon wheels, and those I just break in half and they feed them to themselves for the most part.

Wow, I didn't know they came in so many flavors -- I've only seen sweet potato, banana and apple cinnamon. I'll have to try another store...

Appymomma, those pictures are hilarious! :D
