Has anyone found these sheets to fit ridiculously tight?!? I practically need a hammer and chisel to get the things on just a standard serta crib mattress. And I've noticed sometimes I can't get them all the way around the corners (severe carpal tunnel - probably from TS!) and the sheets have actually left indents on the mattress and weakened the corners. And furthermore, when you do get the thing on, it is sooo tight, that after just two washes there are tiny little holes all in a row down the middle.

Anyone else experience this... or did I just get a bad cut? I bought four of them, only opened one, so I don't want to try the others if you tell me they are all going to fit like this. And if that's the case, can you recommend a better-fitting sheet? TIA

I use regular cheapy cotton crib sheets. I think all crib sheets fit tight to reduce the possibility that kids might pull them up and suffocate themselves - but your sheet sounds wayyyy too tight. Maybe a different brand would fit better?

Maybe they're so tight because the jersey knit has so much give? I have jersey knit sheets for my own bed and I actually don't use them very often because they're so stretchy. When I turn over the sheets sort of come with me and get all rumply. They also come off the mattress.

I use the cheapie sheets too, they work really well for us.

I figured that I had just dried mine too hot the first wash. I, too, have Gerber Jersey Knit sheets for the boys' crib and have actually ripped a nail into the quick trying to get them on (I have tendonitis and it actually hurts to change the sheets)

someone said to me that the best crib mattress sheets were the cheapies from walmart.....So I took my pricey ones back and bought some and I haven't been dissappointed. They are a great fit.

Yes!!!! Our jersey knit ones make the mattress fold in half in the middle! In my experience, all jersey knit sheets are small...maybe from washing? I'd get regular cotton ones--they fit much better! ...although all sheets are difficult to get on a crib mattress.

    Good luck!

The best knit sheets come from Kmart and are only $5 apiece. Definitely check them out. Note that they have to say knit on them. Sorry the Gerber ones are so tight!
