I am looking at the SkipHop duo diaper bag. It's huge. Does anyone have this? Is it too big, as in when you hang it on your stroller does it bang your legs when you walk, tip the stroller over, etc?

Also, is there any 'must-have' items that you can't live without?

    Thanks!

Never heard of that diaper bag... sounds nice though. I had just the simple Child of mine double diaper bag from walmart, LOL

    Must haves:

    Swings
    bouncy chairs
    LOTS of bottles

I ditto the bouncy chairs. I love my boppy pillows and still use them all the time. We also used the Bottle Bundles to hold the bottles when I was home alone until the girls could do it on their own. I also had tons of burp cloths, bibs, nightgowns (in the beginning) and stock up on tons of diapers and wipes now if you can.

I don't think I could have lived without the bouncy chairs, they have played in those more than anything else combined, and our boppies (with stuffed animals to prop the bottle) made it so easy to feed them at the same time.

The only things I had 2 of exactly the same were bouncy seats and boppies pillows. My sanity would not be sort of intact without them. I also got a diaper bag that is a backpack since my hands were always full. Ditto the stocking up on diapers and wipes. My girls loved the Dr. Brown's bottles, and we have tons of them. Oh - I lied. We have 2 of the FIsher price aquariums for their cribs. They both have been able to fall asleep on their own since about 5/6 months old to the lights and music. They haven't always stayed asleep, but they can go to sleep fairly much on their own.

we're loving our bouncy chairs; i have two kinds, the 'deep' kind and the one that is basically very shallow...until my girls got a bit bigger they really didn't fit in the shallow one well. I still prop them a bit (that's what all those blankets you take from teh hospital are for - they are great proppers when they're rolled up!

If you are going to breast feed, i'd recommend the My Brest Friend pillow. I personally don't like the boppies for BFing (the flatter one is ok, but the very rounded one doesn't work for me. Lots of folks use the EZ2Nurse tandem feeding pillow (for bfing) - doesn't really work for us but it does for many.

I just got a bunch of cloth diapers from target to use as burp cloths; i think they're a great size (those tiny pretty ones are worthless if you have spit-uppers!); i think i have about thirty and trust me, we use them and go through them in about two or three days!

The other thing is - try to get some easy to eat meals prepared and frozen in INDIVIDUAL servings. Also find something you like to eat that you can do w/one hand. I lived on granola bars and cans of Ensure for about two months!

And, of course, accept ANY offer of help - be specific! Good luck

I didn't have my skip hop duo double when the kids first arrived cause we didn't have a stroller, but now...I love mine!! I use it on my Mountain Buggy Urban Double and it fits great, even w/o the kids in the stroller it doesn't make the stroller fall over. Other than that, we still use two boppys to prop them on for playing and we had two bouncys. We also had two swings. Good luck and enjoy those first few months, they are precious even w/o sleep!
