Any suggestions for gates? My 8 month olds climb everything so I need one without little holes for them to climb up and over. Any that you all use that are sturdy that 2 determined boys will not be able to get through or over?

We like this one - but you have to step over it. We have a really wide door opening.

    Soft and wide gate

We have the same one. It's definitely not practical in an area where you need to take it down often.

I have also seen others at BRU, Target, etc. that have a sheet of plexiglass across the gate. That would probably work well to prevent your monkey from scaling the gate! :D

I don't know the brand (it was a hand me down) but we have a gate with vertical bars that can't be scaled. You have to mount it into the wall, but it's really sturdy and practical. Installing it isn't hard, just requires a drill and a level. The gate has a lock that can be opened with one hand and it swings open. It's similar to this one:

We have this in our upstairs hallway so no one goes tumbling down the stairs.

We have two wooden ones like that from Ikea that we really like. My determined 2-year-old nephew has not been able to get through them, so hopefully they will contain my 10-month-olds!

We got the Evenflo ones with the remote sensor because I have a 3 year old that has to be able to get to the potty and they seem to work fine. The boys stand on it and it seems to stay mounted to the wall.

We have this one at the top of our stairs. I like it because they can't climb it since it has the up and down bars, and there is a motion detector light that goes on ... so it's kinda like a night light in the hallway when we are going up and down the stairs.

We also have this superyard in our living room ... we bought 2 of them, and they block off half the room to create a safe play area for the kids. I LOVE it ... it mounts to the wall if you want, or can connect end to end to make a playpen. There is also a gate to walk through so I don't have to step over it ... and it's tall, and has up and down bars so they can't climb it. IT's a great gate.

    Good luck!
