We need to corral our girls into one portion of our living room. The wall to wall measurement is 164 inches, ideally I would like to find something to go wall to wall with a walk thru gate. Big brother (3.5) has a play area that we need to keep them out of as well as stairs to the basement and stairs going to upstairs. We need a walk thru gate as big brother is potty training and will need to be able to get out to go to the bathroom and also us carrying babies and stuff.

I have looked online and in all the stores I can think of the only thing I can find is buying 2 systems to the tune of $300+ and that really isn't an option at this point. Any ideas or thoughts would be great.

We configured a gate system through One Step Ahead. Not sure if that helps you or not. It had a swing door so that my DD could get to the potty if need be.

Try Craigslist or the local MoMs group. Sometimes you will catch someone who is done with theirs and willing to sell for a low price. Or you can do like we've done for the time being, we moved our couches and recliner and other things to make the barrier. Between the recliner and our exersaucer is enough space for the adults to step over. The older kids understand that they are allowed to climb over the couch ONLY when the twins are in there. Other times when the twins are not being kept contained there, we move the exersaucer for everyone to walk through. It's a bit of a pain, but I am hopeful we will only be doing it for a few months. Good luck!

we have a great room and didn't want the boys wandering into the dining room side. it wasn't an ideal solution, but we used furniture to barricade the portion of the living room we wanted them to stay on. it just wasn't practical or cost effective to buy a wide enough gate to span the entire room. it worked for us. :unknw:

This one goes to a max of 12.5ft but if there was some way you could build out the wall on each end to make up the difference it would work perfect. We use it around our wood stove in a configured shape and we also will use it this summer camping in the octagon shape.
