My twins are 5 weeks old and things are going great except my DD has some really bad gas. She has a hard time moving it through her body and sometimes she cries in pain. I rub her belly, give her mylicon, work her legs...all that kind of stuff. Sometimes it helps move it through her, but after eating she will grunt for quite a while and I can tell she is uncomfortable. The one thing that helps is if she lays on her belly. This is horrible, but I have been putting her to sleep on her tummy. It scares me to do this because of the whole SIDS thing, but if I don't she does not sleep very well. I have tried having her sleep in a bouncer and her carseat to elevate her, but that doesn't work. It was to the point none of us were really sleeping and we were desperate. There are a few occasions she is doing okay and so I lay her on her back, but it isn't often. I really hate having her on her stomach when she sleeps at night and would like any and all advice on maybe how to make her more comfortable so she will sleep on her back.

Talk to your pedi. She might need to switch to different formula.if you breast feed, you have to cut out all dairy.

My son was the same way. I stopped intaking dairy and he was much better.hope your little one feels better soon

I totally agree - ours boys were exactly like that for a long time - we finally figured out they are lactose AND soy intolerant.

I agree with talking to the pedi. If you do formula feed, we switched our kids to Similac Sensitive and give gas drops at every feeding to help with gas.
Good luck, I hope your DD feels better soon!

My girls have to drink Similac Sensitive formula. They were very gassy when I was nursing them too and I cut tons of food from my diet. I also put the gas drops right in their bottles with their formula. It helps it not be so bubbly and then their bellies are getting the gas drops while they eat. They burp SOOOO much better when I do it this way :) Try it.

I agree with the girls. Swaddling will also help, and you can also buy a baby magic sac type thing. It's shapped like a bear, you throw it in the microwave for a few seconds and swaddle them with it. I used it with Nathaniel, worked wonders for him. My guys were B/F but took my milk from a bottle as well. When Nathaniel took a bottle I would put gripe water right into the milk in the bottle. Helped a lot

I mainly BF but once in a while they will get a bottle of formula. I will try giving the drops before I nurse and when I give her formula I will put it in the bottle...never thought to do that.

Did you cut all dairy from your diet? There are a few foods I stay away from, but what are some of the other foods you cut out?
