one of my sons is constantly spittingup; whether he's nursing or drinking from a bottle (formula or BM).
hes also REALLY gassy all the time. could this be reflux?

Sounds like it might be. I'd call your pedi and ask them.

It sounds like reflux, but most babies have reflux and spit up. The problem is when they aren't keeping enough food down to gain weight and grow, or seem like they are experiencing discomfort. If either of these are occurring, I would talk to your pediatrician. If not, it may just be an annoying laundry issue. I experienced that with one of my LO's... he was fine, I just had to change him all of the time. My other LO, on the other one, started to scream with every feed and eat extremely less. I knew there was a problem and sought professional help. He is now on Prevacid and Zantac and Alimentum formula. I send hugs out to you... reflux is not fun. If it is just spitting up, there are formulas you can try such as Enfamil AR or Similac Sensitive RS which have added rice starch. This helps the formula thicken in the belly so it doesn't come up as often. GL!

Oh and also for gas, there are things such as Mylicon Drops that can help, and even formulas to help with that. I like the Similac Sensitive RS because the sensitive part helps with gas and the rice starch helps with spit up. I would check with Ped first before you do anything though.

I would talk to your ped. Most babies will spit up at least some & most seem to have problems with gas occasionally. If it's an ongoing problem, if he is spitting up enough that he isn't gaining weight, if he seems to be in a lot of pain, then he might need to be treated. Hopefully it's just normal baby gas discomfort!

I agree with talking to your dr about it, cause it does sound like reflux.

My first ds had the "laundry problem" reflux, he spit up for the first 12 months a lot, and then to 18 months a little bit.

My twin dd though has silent reflux, she was constantly screaming, not spitting up much but I could see her doing a lot of swallowing between feeds, like she was trying to keep something down, and she'd get the hiccups a lot and when she did spit up it was very chunky and soured. Zantac didn't help but the prevacid has been a life saver!

 It's rough but it does end, eventually!!

As the PP's said, I would talk to the pediatrician, as it is hard to say what is normal and what is not. Good luck, I know it is not easy.
