My DD has taken to letting the nipple of the bottle go down her throat and will gag herself to let me know that she doesn't want the bottle anymore...is this normal? It seems really weird to me, and I'm a little worried about it. I don't want her gagging herself and throwing up :(.

Anyone else seen this kind of behavior??

Do you prop her bottles?(NOT that there is anything at all wrong with it, I did it at times) Just wondering if she doesn't have the strength to spit it out when she is done and instead it slides in?

No, I'm too paranoid to prop their bottles 'cause I'm afraid to do it wrong for that very reason. She does it when I'm directly feeding her. :(

once again, my natalie used to do this too... maybe it is a "natalie" thing  now instead of letting the nipple go back too far and gagging, she sticks her tongue out which causes the nipple to hit the back of her tongue and gags her. she always decides to do this when i happen to be looking at DS (i feed them at the same time, but hold the bottles), i guess it is her way of getting my attention...

I sit mine in the bouncers and feed them at the same time too. LOL, maybe it IS a "Natalie" thing...she DOES tend to do it when I'm feeding them both and I'm watching Brandon. Maybe it COULD be a "hey, pay attention to me" thing...

Maybe then she has tried to push it out and her tongue has slipped underneath the nipple by the time you have noticed she has finished? Oh the joys of feeding two babies at once!

I don't think it's anything to worry about.
