Gabriel Jacob and Katelyn Isabelle arrived on 12/5!

So happy to announce the arrival of Gabriel Jacob and Katelyn Isabelle on December 5 -- 36 weeks to the day, and a week ahead of their scheduled c-section!

Quick birth story: I had had a dr's appt that day, and everything was looking good. I was 1 cm dilated, but the doctor thought I'd hang in there for another week till their scheduled c-section date. Well, they had other ideas!! At 1:15 am, my water broke, and contractions started immediately, about 4 minutes apart. By the time we got to the hospital at 2:30 (we had to pack bags plus the hospital 30 mins away), they were 1 minute apart -- these babies wanted OUT!!! After dealing with a horrible horrible nurse who checked the babies' heartrates, I was brought to the OR. My contractions were SUPER painful at this point -- probably a mix of pain from the contrax plus the shock of actually being in labor! -- so the spinal was a blessing and a half. It kicked in in about 20 seconds, and I was painfree -- halleuljah!! I didn't even realize the incision had been made when all of a sudden, I heard a baby cry. Our little Gabe was out! And then two minutes later, we heard Katelyn cry. Hearing your babies' first cries and seeing them for the first time is the most incredible thing you can imagine ...

Gabriel weighed in at 5 lbs, 12 oz, and was 17.25 inches long. Katelyn was 4 lbs, 9 oz, and 15.75 inches long. No NICU time for either baby, but K had a hard time maintaining her temperature for the first few days, so they kept her in an isolette in the regular nursery. They came home with me the day I left the hospital, and they're doing great!!!

Thanks to you all for such great advice the past few months!! Here's to healthy pregnanices and births for you all when your time comes!

Oh you got me all choked up!!! THEY are precious I am having b/g twins too and will be 35 weeks tomorrow. Your post and birth story inspired/motivated me to buck up and go another week. I can do this! With the end result "take home packages" as my ob puts it.
