Fused placenta?

    We had a great 20 week peri appt. and the tech casually said my 2 placentas had fused together in one spot. The peri never mentioned it and everything looked perfect from his perspective but I'm a little uneasy. Has anyone else had their 2 placentas fuse??

    My placenta (it looked like one) ended up actually being two fused. We didn't find out until after the babies were born based on the pathology report. And our di/di boys ended up being ID. We had to DNA test them.

    My placentas were fused also. I found out at my 21 week u/s that we were expecting twins, and by that point they had already fused. My two did have a 1.5lb size difference, with Emma being the bigger twin. The peri was not thrilled to see it, but it was not a big cause for concern either.

    Fused placentas are fairly common and aren't a medical concern (meaning, the fact that they fused doesn't mean there's a problem).

    My babies had fused placentas, but no one knew until I delivered. All of my many ultrasounds showed two separate placentas, so I have no idea when they fused. The midwives were very surprised. They took it away to confirm that they were two fused together rather than one shared placenta.

    Mine had fused placentas too but i didnt know untill after they were born. Didnt seem to be a problem at all x

    I was concerned when i found out a few weeks ago too that ours had fused placentas too. My dr wasn't concerned since they were obviously separate at earlier u/s. It still makes me a little nervous but it seems that it cant affect things too bad.

    Me too! (I spent 8 months fretting that they were mono-di and they weren't after all! Lil Boogers. :D)
