FurReal pet or Zhu Zhu Pet?

My guys LOVE cats and dogs but I refuse to get one! So, I was thinking a pretend kitty or dog that walks or that they can play with. Any suggestions? I'm really not familiar with the Furreal pets or the Zhu Zhu pets.....

 

I got one for cheap at a consignment sale and they went nuts over it, but the novelty wore off quickly. I'm not sure which brand it is though... looks like a lab puppy.

 

The ZhuZhu pets are only the hamsterish type ones. Sarah's quit working in about 3 months, even with fresh batteries. There are alot of accessories and clothes you can do with them. Timothy has 2 and they still work fine.

We don't have FurrReals, but they are no clothes or accessories to go with them. All they do is walk and make noise.

If you are comfortable with your kids and computers, you might try a Webkinz Junior. My kids are older and have regular WebKinz and love them. They have the stuffed animal to play with, but then get a whole virtual room to play with the animals. They get to feed and cloth it on the computer. We never did the junior Webkinz so I don't know exactly how that works.

My girls have both and they don't really play with them on a daily basis, but go through periods of playing with them for several days at a time, then forget about them, then get them out and play with them, then forget about them. They seem to love the zhu zhu pets the best and have asked for more of the little tunnels. They also liked the furreal dog that has the leash that will really walk (I think it's furreal). Anyway, really for me it's a toss up.

 

If you want something that is 'realistic' like...to take place of a pet cat/dog...than I would say the furreal pets. We got DD the cat last year. It moves and sounds and even looks like a real cat. She loved it when she got it, but I can't say she really plays with it now. BUT...that could be partly our fault as we never put new batteries in it when the old ones died. :blush:

This year she is getting the zhu zhu pets. She has seen them in the stores and on commercials and has gone crazy over them. However, she had the same reaction to the the furreal cat last year and the newness wore off real quick.

I do know that Wal-mart is having a sale on zhu zhu pets right now....at least our local one is.

 

mine were given the cat furreal pet for their birthday and they fought over it so we went out and bought the dog. These were the ones that are as small as the zhu zhu pets. you press their back and they meow and bark and mover around on their own. They also have the furreal dog that actually looks like a puppy and they pick it up here and there and forget about it too.

 

I just pick up the FurReal for my daughter that comes with tunnel and just have to buy extra FurReal. I am thinking she'll play with it because she is totally into 'stuff animals'. At least I got them on sale for $24.99 (You can get them at Meijers or Target) is having their sales right now with it.

My girls are the same I just bought the pet dog today, he barks and you can take him for a walk I got it in Walmart, can't remember the name! also I am about to get the lul talking kitty intarget for my other daughter... that's as close as I they are to getting a real pet..
