I just received a note from a friend of mine on another forum and she said that she received advice to wear big, dark sunglasses when out with the twins because people tended not to ask questions if they couldn't get eye contact!

Has anyone else tried this and if so, does it work? I really don't mind the questions and at times, I welcome them but there are times that I am in a huge rush and get stopped but don't want to be rude.

    What do y'all think?

Hmmm might work...I should try it, we get approached anytime we go anywhere and it really bugs me!

People rarely ask me about the girls but they always ask my husband. I never make eye contact with people and always look like I'm in a rush (which I am most of the time) so people tend to leave us alone. If DH is out with them it takes him forever! He will talk to anyone about anything!!

Yup, avoid eye contact. I usually just look very determined and rushed and don't look at anyone.

Im pretty sure it would work. As pp have said, if you just dont make eye contact with them, they probably wont say anything. Its very rare that Ive had someone say something to me, if I hadnt looked at them. I guess because if you arent looking at the person they have no way to know whether you hear them or not, easier to ignore them. . which Im guilty of doing on occassion.

I wear a hat and it's easy to tip my head down far enough that I can still see where I'm pushing, but can't make eye contact. I think sunglasses would work just as well!

IDK I wear dark sunglasses every evening for our walk ( rain or shine cuz I have no makeup on) and people still stop to talk. I don't mind though so maybe they sense this.

I'm usually wearing shades when I am out and I still get questions from people. It depends on the day and where I go here because I have been in stores and not gotten asked a single question, just had people walk by and go ooo and aaaaa!

I have twin babies and a 2 year old in a triple stroller. No sunglasses, hats, or gloves deter people from approaching us. What's worse is that some people actually ignore me and go straight to the babies and try to touch them. It drives me absolutely crazy!!! :gah:
