What crazy/funny things have you heard people say while out with your twins??

The funniest thing that we had happen to us was when the girls were about 5 months old and we were at babies 'r' us. A woman that was shopping with her 3 kids(her children were mixed, black/white), stopped us and said that she just delivered twins a month ago and was just asking us various questions about diapers, formula, etc. Well we got done talking and continued our shopping. About 5 minutes later her 3 year old son approached us and starting talking to the twins and his mother came up to get him. And we started talking again and this woman looked at her son and said "I cant wait for your sisters to be like that" (she meant sitting up in their stroller) and her son looked at my twins, looked up at her with a funny look on his face and said "they going to be white!!" We all just about fell over laughing, it was so cute!

That's funny. I had a boy around 9 or 10 years old at the park suddenly stop playing and count my children..."One, two, three, four!! Oh my gosh! How many kids do you need?!"

A lady at the grocery store asked me the other day if they were "real twins." I said "Um...as opposed to fake twins?" She looked at me like I was being a smart a$$ and said that they could just be close in age. Now the closest in age they could be is 9 months, right? To me, there is a HUGE difference between a newborn and a 9 month old.

This isn't a twin thing, but something funny happened shortly after I got married when I was shopping with my SD who was then 5.5 years old and very outgoing. A lot of people think I am the baby sitter, so we were checking out at the grocery store and she had all this money from her grandpa and my SD was telling the clerk about her grandpa living in Hawaii and how her dad is "brown", (he's Asian) then she blurts out "Can you belive my dad married a white woman???" I about died, the clek had no idea she was talking about ME.

A funny thing happened when we were in the waiting room at the pediatrician's office for the girls' 2 or 3 month visit. The girls were sitting angelically in their car seats, and a four year old who was running around the room suddenly stopped in front of them, pointed, and yelled out "those babies are fake!"

I had a salesperson keep stopping to me to ask questions (are they twins? yes identical? no) and she asked how old they were. I told her five months which they were at the time. A few minutes later she came back over to us and said, "So they are both five months?" She was completely serious.

No, William is five months but Nick hit a growth spurt and now he's seven months.

The nurse at my OB's office I asked if they were identical knowing that they were boy/girl. You know, it is one thing when it is the general public, but a nurse in an OB's office? Come on!

At Wal-Mart one day, I had a lady say "I don't know how you do it. I could never do it." And it made me think of an email about twins I had gotten. The email said when someone says this you should say "What would you do? Leave one out by the curb with a sign that says Free to good home. My mom can't do it." Of course, I was gracious and just smiled and said they were good babies or something. It would be fun to say something like that sometime! [IMG]

I was at the post office and I had a lady come up and ask me if I had a baby in each of the car seats. And I was a smart A&& and said no I just felt like carring 2 car seats today so that way my other arm get the same work out as my other arm.

One of the nurses at my OB's office asked me the same thing when I went back for my 6 week checkup. LOL. In her defense she realized what she asked before I got a chance to answer.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day about when people say they could never raise twins. Oh no what would you do?
