Funny thing the insurance guy said

An insurance guy came over today to meet with DH. I'm on bedrest and we have our bed in the middle of the living room since the only bathroom is on this floor. Anyway, when someone comes over we need to explain that I'm on bedrest, etc. When we told the guy are expecting twins he asked if we know if they are fraternal or maternal. :lol: I didn't bother with the biology lesson.

after a friend of mine asked me what the sex of my babies were and I told her one boy one girl, she said, awww how awsome, are they identical?

I was shocked for a sec that anyone would think that possible, haha

 

I had people ask me that too. I neevr bothered expalining it. Glad you got a good laugh!

 

:rotflmbo: I have realized that many people do not know much about twins, but hey at least we get a good laugh out of it.

I get asked all the time if my two are identical.

 

I laugh at this but then I remember that pretwins I wasnt as knowledgeable as I am now BUT I did know that there is no such thing as a "maternal" twin!! But at my u/s when we found out we were having twins I asked if they were "paternal" LOL Yes I knew the word was FRATernal but I was very flustered... it was okay everyone in the room understood!!

:rotflmbo: yes people have very amusing thoughts about twins. i've had the different sex-identical thing, too, and i find alot get confused about sharing placenta's, membranes and cords and stuff!!!
