Funny story about a conversation with Hayden

Bedtime conversation with Hayden (7) last night:


H: Mom, what's a magnum opus?

Me: It's a person's greatest work, honey.

H: What's your magnum opus, Mom?

Me: You guys, of course!

H: What's Dad's magnum opus?

Me: You guys, too.

H: How can that be? He didn't make us...you did!

Me: We made you together.

H: Huh?

Me: OK, goodnight sweetie! (quick exit)

That's too funny! My DD is 6.5 and is starting to ask questions like that. I'm thinking it is getting closer to the time for us to have the "talk". Doesn't it seem way too soon?

Cute conversation, but also a good opportunity missed to talk. I've been having talks with Isidra mostly since the age of 3 (yes not a typo) and while it comes in spurts, she knows just about everything there is to know. And if she had more questions, she got plenty of book that she's consulting on a regular basis.
