So there I was, sitting on the couch tandem nursing, babies both asleep at the breast. I got both of them down in their cribs, and so proud of myself, I went to go outside to play with the dog for a few minutes. I opened the door, and felt a breeze.. My right Nipple was right out there for all the world to see!! The worst part is, we are the corner lot on a culdesac.. and we have yet to put a fence up. So the old retiree mowing his lawn MAY have gotten a free show!! I was already about 2 steps out the door when I relised!!!

ooooooh the joys of needing sleep haha

I will never forget my FIL walking in the house the first day we were home and I was tandem nursing, no cover or anything. I couldn't have cared less because of the sleep deprivation at the time(that and you lose your modesty more and more with each kid!), but he was SO EMBARRASSED! He didn't come back over for days and definitely knocked and yelled before he came in!

Ha! During those early days it seems like you spend more time with your shirt off than with it on!

I could say that about the whole first month at least! We had so many visitors and I just didn't care. Tandem was the only way I could survive and the babies hated a cover, so modesty went out the window and I left it up to other people to leave the room if they were uncomfortable! I did use a nursing tank top, though, with another tank on top so you couldn't see too much...

I haven't walked out with a nipple totally out, but I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten to *adjust* after nursing so it's not until I manage to pass by a mirror (who has time to seek one out?) that I notice you can see through my shirt (by the contours) that one breast is in the bra where it belongs and the other is squished down half out of it. Not a pretty sight.

This happened with one of DH´s uncles who decided to spring a visit on us when the twins were just days old. I only had one boob out but I didnt really notice as I was soooo tired. He was embarrassed as my mum told me later!!!

I had a similar incident and I never breastfed my babies.

;) I hope you get some sleep soon. Great job on getting them down alone. :good:
