so as some of you have read i am 1cm dialated, 40% effaced and 1cm funneling from the inside of the cervix...as of this last sunday. i'm on 20mg of procardia every 4 hours to stop the irritability and contractions but like an idiot i did some "research" on the internet about cervical funnelling and it did not make me feel very comfortable.

sooooooo, do any of you ladies have any experience with this scenario and if so how long did you make it????

    thanks!

I think Ive answered several times now and you're probably tired of hearing from me but I started dilating/funneling/effacing etc at 29 weeks.
I was on bedrest and nifedipine pills (procardia) from 29-34 weeks. After that my doctor let me off bedrest and I showed up for my induction at 37 weeks. I was 5cm dilated, 100% effaced and not in labor.

they noticed funneling with my cervix at 27 weeks, which is also when my cervix shortened from 4cm to about 2cm. they put me on modified bedrest with twice weekly NSTs, steroid shots for the girls' lungs, so on & so forth. at my next u/s there was no funneling and my cervix, while still shorter than it originally was, had gotten longer. i was told i had a dynamic cervix which i think sounds really funny. anyway, i delivered at 34w1d. the girls spent 13 days in the NICU mostly just feeding & growing, and now you wouldn't even know they were preemies.

Sorry I have the worst preggo brain possible and forget everything.

Do you have a camera at my doctor's appointments? This is exactly where I am right now, I have been the same the last two weeks. I have already had my steriod shots and a round of magnesium to stop the labor two weeks ago. I'm on modified bed rest and doc thinks it could still be any day. But, the contractions have really slowed down to around 1-2 an hour instead of 5 or so an hour when I left the hospital.
