I was going to ask the g-mas for books for the guys for Christmas, and I thought I'd see what everyone's favorites were! So what are your favorite books from basic ABC picture books to Dr. Seuss to bedtime stories??

My ultimate favorite- The Monster at the End of this Book with Grover! :)

I have lots of favorite children's books, but for the short little attention spans at this age, the more pictures and less words - the better!

My two love a book called Busy Kitties and it's companion Busy Puppies.

For my baby shower, my cousin gave us two baskets full of children's books. She signed up for all those baby book clubs when she found out I was pregnant, and it was a great shower gift that will be enjoyed for a long time to come!!

My two love the book, "Panda Bear, Panda Bear - What do you see?" It was a hand-me-down that was pretty used up. But from they were little, they loved the pictures. All I have to say is "Where's Panda", and they go crazy looking for it!"

My favorite right now is "Fox in Socks" by Dr. Seuss -- or I Think that's the title -- it's a huge tongue twister and it's fun for me to try to say it faster and faster; I don't think the girls' really care right now, but for me, it's fun! (ok, so I"m weird, but when you are a SAHM, you have to have some intellectual challenge in your day!)

Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi. Yes, at heart I am really a 13 yr old boy. The babies love it, though.

This was DD book of choice for a LOOOOONG time, we had to hide it from her so we could quit reading it!

We love the Where's Baby's Bellybutton? and Counting Kisses at this age and any book with real pictures of animals have always been popular.

My children love The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss the best. It is so worn that I really should buy them a new one.

I could quote it, word for word, right here and now. I read it at least 3 times a day, everyday. That doesn't include the number of times per day the nanny or DH read it too. :)

I read all types of books to the boys. At this age they don't understand the stories - they just know that nana is talking to them. Some of my favorites to read to them are the "Giving Tree", "The Kissing Hand", "Five Little Monkeys" and Gerald McBoing Boing. I really hope to instill a love of reading in the boys. I have always loved to read, my daughters love to read and my son in law is also a reader. I've always said that if a child can read and enjoys reading they can go anywhere and do anything by reading a book. This past Easter we gave them "Peter Rabbit" and of course for Christmas they are getting "The Polar Express" and "The Night Before Christmas". You can't go wrong with Dr. Seuss or the Little Golden Books.

My girls LOVE "Put me in the zoo" and "Moo Baa La La La!"

They also like this small curious george board book that goes thru the alphabet. Its in there room right now and I just put them to bed so I can't get the exact name for you. My book club threw me a 'book shower' when I was pregnant so the girls have a huge library, but the board books are their fav's right now because they don't have much of an attention span.

My boys love the Karen Katz books (Where is Baby's Belly Button, Where is Baby's Mommy, Toes Ears and Nose, etc.). They get so excited when I lift the flaps.

They also LOVE the cloth book we have called "Fuzzy Bee and Friends". I've been reading it to them every day since they were 3 weeks old and they still enjoy it. They get bored with a lot of the other books we have but they will listen to this one every time!

We read Goodnight Moon every night before bed and I love it, but I'm not sure if they do yet. They're usually asleep by the time I'm finished with it!

"Where the wild things are", by Maurice Sendack
"Guess How Much I Love You", by Sam McBratney
I also look at Kohl's everytime I'm there, they have the fundraiser books/stuffed animals rack at the front of the store and both the books and animals to go with the books are $5 each. I love this and the books are always good ones.
