I dont think they have to have it. I know they can have it at 9 months old. Also BM is GREAT. Keep giving that to them.

I agree with Mary. :good: If they are drinking BM there is no reason to risk it, just stick with that. They don't need the enfamil next step.

Personally, I would just stick with what they are on now {the regular kind}. Did you doctor recommend the switch? I thought the next step was for after they turned one, but I'm not sure. Sorry.

Next Step is a way for Enfamil to get more money from parents! Give them the BM and wait until 12 months to give whole milk and they will be perfect! If they are using regular formula as well as the BM then there is no reason to change to the Next Step... If they are just on BM then definatelyDONT give them the Next Step they don't need it and it will cause you to proiduce less milk since they won't be asking for BM as much since they will be full of formula...

Stick with the BM if you can. I FF and never switched to the "Next Step" stuff with the one who was not on the Alimentum. I just did regular Enfamil until we switched to whole milk.

We exclusively fed bm until 6.5 months. Then we switched to Target brand formula. At 12 months we are planning to switch to cow's milk.
