I have seen people post about their kiddos liking frozen peas. I gave them to my girls last night and they ate them right up!! This may sound ridiculous, but how do you cook them, serve them, store them? I threw a handful in the micro last night with a cup of water and half of them exploded! Ha ha! Should I steam a bunch and put them in the fridge?

I usually cook them in the microwave with a little bit of water. You could probably steam them & store them, I don't see why not. My older kids love them straight from the freezer :bad: but the babies are still a little young for that yet!

When they are teething, they like them frozen. Jult like blueberries and bags of diced turnips.

I run hot water over mine until they are defrosted and mash them slightly. If I don't mash them then the peas end up in the diaper whole if you get my drift. Sean is getting better about chewing but James still snarfs them down.

Okay so after I posted this I was talking to dh about it and he took them out of the freezer and said "you do this" and popped a few in his mouth. I have never even heard of doing that. Kind of funny that I come back here and two of you suggested the same thing.

I actually did what Jenny suggested and it worked like a charm. I put them in the water while I fed them their chicken and apples and they were the perfect temp when I was done.

    Thanks ladies!!

Funny about eating them frozen. I don't think I ever would have tried that. Maybe I will now.

We started serving them slightly thawed when they started eating finger foods. It was one of their first finger foods. Now, they will ask for "cold peas" when they want peas with a meal! They don't like them hot!

I have a Tupperware steamer and cook them for about 5 minutes that way. I make a lot, then store the leftovers in the fridge in the small Gladware containers. Microwave those for 30 seconds when they have them for lunch.

Highly recommend the Tupperware steamer, I have a small one and a large one, and I use them all the time for veggies.
