Hi ladies! My twins are 19 months and still rear facing. But recently they started getting car sick. I am not sure what to do. Should I turn them? I hope we could rear face as long as possible. Do you have any advice? Is there anyway I can keep them rear face longer? TiA!

The car seats we use can only be used for front facing once the baby weighs 9kg (if I remember correctly). I don't know if facing to the rear is the course of the car sickness, but if they weigh enough, turn the seats around and see if this helps. Front facing allowed more leg room for my kids and I turned the seats around when they were about 9 months.

I agree, I would turn the seats around to see if that helps the car sickness and if it doesn't, you can always turn them back especially if you are not comfortable with them forward facing yet. Good luck! I was a child that got car sick all the time, so I hope you find a solution

Thanks ladies! I haven't turned them around yet. I will wait until next week. If they still have car sick, I will turn them and see. And I used to get car sick a lot when I was little as well. So I guess they got it from me ;(.

    Thanks ladies!

I would put them forward facing if you think it would help with the car sickness issue. Being car sick is pretty miserable.

I feel your pain! We've done extended rear facing with our girls (they're almost two) and I really feel strongly about it. We've had two incidents of Samantha throwing up on a car ride and both times it was on a drive that neared two hours.

My plan, and I don't know if this would work for you, is to keep them rear facing until our trip to my parents for Christmas. That's a four hour drive. If I can manage it, I will turn them rear again once we've gotten home. If the joy of seeing more of the vehicle makes turning them rear again a nightmare (I can just imagine them suddenly realizing what they've been missing and rioting) then we'll just accept that they have to stay forward facing. But I'm hoping that's not the case. We shall see.

The challenge for me is that my husband just does NOT get the safety of rear facing. He wants them turned around yesterday. I've stuck to my guns this long, but it appears I might finally lose. ;)

Last weekend, I took them to kenwood mall. It was over hr drive. Michelle puked when we got there. Nolan cried so much and finally puked on the way back. Next day, we went out for dinner. Nolan puked again on the way home ;(. It was so bad. We are going to kenwood mall to get their Xmas presents this weekend again. If they have carsick and puke again I will turn them right away. I hope I can keep them rear face at least over this snow season. Grrrrr. Thanks ladies!

And yes my husband doesn't care much about rear facing or front!
