front/back stroller or side by side

Someone I met thru this website was telling me how much she loved her side by side stroller better than the graco duo glider. It got me thinkin. Right now we're registered for the Graco Quattro Tour, which we had heard does a lot better than the duo glider. I already have a hand-me-down Baby Trend Snap N Go that I CAN use while the girls are still in thier carseats. I guess we just picked the front/back Graco stroller, thinking it would be easier to get thru stores and doorways when the girls are sitting and won't need their carseats. I was on Graco's website looking a little more at our stroller we registered for, and I don't think I noticed before that only the back seat lays flat. I'm wondering if the front one even reclines AT ALL? It looks like the kid could be stuck sitting in a very straight up position.

Does anyone have the Graco Quattro Tour? Is the Snap N Go the way to go at first, and then on to a SBS stroller? I really appreciate my friend giving me her advice, and it's making me think. Just curious if anyone out there LOVES the new Quattro Tour...and is the baby in front stuck upright?

This is what we did and are really happy with our decision. I know some people have posted that they have the Quattro tour, so I'm sure someone will post their experience. GL!

We just had the Graco DuoGlider, and the baby in the front was stuck in a more upright position, but by the time they were out of their carseats, they weren't really napping in their stroller anyway.

We had a Duoglider as well and mine eventually hated riding in the back seat as it had a funny incline to it. They would each start to fuss only after a few minutes in there. It was a great first stroller for us. I went to the Combi Twin Savvy SBS after that and I still use it and love it. Now I also have a Valco Twin Trimode and I love that, but I use that for jogging and malls and the grocery store if I need just a few things.

I prefer the front to back when I'm out in stores- it's easier to maneuver in tight spots, but I also have a side by side that I love for walks outside.. And I had the snap and go that I loved- I was sad when they outgrew their infant car seats... Good luck!

We only had the DuoGlider, and used it until the boys were 3. I did have an umbrella side by side, and hated it. It was tough to get through doors and stores. I was actually glad that the airline broke it on the way home from a trip, because then I had an excuse to toss it.

:good: That's what we got after the snap n'go and we still love it. I have the duoglider and never was a fan of pushing that thing around. :pardon:

I never used our double snap n go. We have the duoglider, and have loved it so far. I do have a super heavy Zooper sbs which I only use for walks around the neighborhood. I don't want to lug that in and out of the car. But we are also about to get the Combi twin Sport sbs - its really light weight, and the girls seem to enjoy being side by side. We have a lot of strollers, but each serves its purpose for us. We plan to keep the duoglider for specific errands (stores with small aisles, etc).

I do love the Double Snap n Go for now. I test-drove a SBS (the BOB Revolution Duallie) in the store and love it; we're plannign to get that as our next stroller. It seems like you can get used Graco DuoGliders pretty cheap on craigslist so I might get one of those as well so I have a tandem option if I find the SBS doesnt' go anywhere. (It did fit through the doorways at the store where I test-drove it. :))

We're still using our Snap-n-Go. I love it. The girls will be outgrowing their infant seats in the next month or so and I'm trying to decide what stroller to get too. I'm leaning towards a SBS.

I have the Combi Twin Savvy too. I have both, but realized when they were born that it was just not going to work... I think they are good for older/younger sibblings, but not for twins, unless they both lay back completely. I love my Combi. It was worth it. I have the mini one... I fits through all store and restaurant doors. I couldn't have made it the last 9 months without it!

i have the graco quattro duo and it is ok... you are right about the front seat, it only reclines a little so DS is usually sitting up there when they are not in their carseats because he has better head control... the other thing that i'm not crazy about are the sunshades, the front one is very small and i am constantly adjusting it to get coverage. on the plus side, it has a great turning radius, it is very comfortable to push (i am tall so the upright handles are great), and it is super easy to fold up and open. it is heavy, but you aren't going to find a twin stroller that is light... i am thinking about getting a sbs jogger now for walking... another big decision...

Just a tidbit about the BabyTrend Snap & Go... I love it! I got the larger carseats that go to 30 pounds... there are more options now, Snugride and others go to 32 pounds... which just enables you to use the SNG longer! We are still using it and our babies are now 10 months old. I position the seats so that both face each other and they get to play footsies... anyway, I have only used the SNG in stores... along with store carts & my carcarriers. I have yet to take my Combi-SBS to the stores yet... I love it on walks. Though I will say that the babies are older now and want to sit up more than my seats seem to do... but I think I'll be able to figure that out.

hopefully you'll figure it out, definitely try to find a store that carries the strollers you are contemplating so that you can see them in person... AND try to put the strollers in your car. the large (and heavy) Graco Quattro, and DuoGlider didn't fit in my car... the Combi rolled up and fit better b/c it wasn't so long. The weight was a big thing for me, I think the Graco ones were closer to 30 or more pounds? I believe the Combi was more like 20 pounds...

Also, I have 2 of the frame SNG strollers... so that I can have one in the car full time and then have one that I take from the garage to the house... all because I got tired of taking the 17 pound stroller in and out of the car... just something to think about when looking at the big over 40 pound stroller...
