I am currently in my 33rd week. I went to see my OB on Tuesday morning, he told me he wanted me to go to get an NST right after my appointment. I went to Labor and Delivery and got set up and found out I was having contractions and dialated to 2 cm. Needless to say, I spent all afternoon there until they decided what to do with me. By early evening they decided to send me to the nearest hospital that can accomodate preemies (45 miles away). Once there and settle, I had dialated to 3, within a few hours I dialated to 4, all while I was put on a magnesium drip. I had already given one steroid shot and tributeral and the previous hospital. I was told by late evening I was in pre term labor and the contractions kept coming. By mid morning the contractions had slowed way down and by early afternoon they had stopped. The magnesium made me so sick that they stopped it for a couple of hours to give me a break. While off the drip I started having contractions about 1-3 an hour and this time it was happening with the pains in my lower back. By early evening I was taken off the monitors but I will be kept on the magnesium drip until mid morning and it will be removed so I can be observed for a few hours to see if the contractions have stopped totally. This will determine if I get to go home or if I have to stay until I deliver!!!

Also a couple other things happened in these past two days and I would like your opinion on them.
This is what happened besides stopping pre term labor...

    1. I failed the FFN test.

    2. I lost a good amount of mucus this evening (long and stringy).

Any stories or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance and happy new year everyone!!!

I had a stay at the hospital when I was 29weeks. I was dilated to 2.5 and about 80% effaced. They kept me 4 days on terbutaline and niphedipine then I got to go home. My doc wrote me a prescription for niphedipine that I was to take anytime I felt contractions and I was put on bedrest.
At 30 weeks, this time last year (day before new years) I had to go get checked again cause I lost my plug! When I called my doc she said that meant I was dilating more so go get checked out. I did and was fine and went home again. She said the plug would continue to keep trying to regenerate itself so I had that crap for weeks.
Around 32 weeks I had to go back to the hospital for another shot of terbutaline to stop contractions by this time I was dilated 3 and 90% effaced.
Baby As head was at 0 station, she kept telling me if his head goes any lower you will have to be in labor. She could feel everytime she checked me. The nurses & doctor told me I wouldnt make it out of January pregnant.

At 34 weeks (the end of January) she finally let me off bedrest....I stayed pregnant! At 37 weeks she agreed she would induce me. I showed up to the hospital dilated to 5 & 100% effaced. I was still not in labor! :) She couldnt believe it and after all that neither could I :)

Hang in there, you never know whats in store!

Looks to me like they'll be making an appearance sooner, rather than later... All signs are pointing to it!!

They'll be fine. Get the other steroid shot and you'll be good to go. They are girls, correct?? They'll do GREAT!

    Congrats and update us!!!

It's hard to say about the plug. That can happen from weeks to hours before labor, but since you've been dilating it makes sense why. It can regenerate itself, though. As far as the test, again it's hard to say. It's actually more reliable to get a negative than a positive, so the fact that you got a positive is again hard to say. However, with everything combined, one would think that you are certainly close! But then again, there's no guarantee  Keep us posted!
