Is a froggy voice something that happens with pregnancy?

About every other week or maybe once a week my voice gets kind of "froggy" or coarse, and it sounds like I'm getting sick. I feel perfectly fine, but my voice sounds strained or as if I was yelling all night at a concert the night before.

Nothing serious, just kind of weird and I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this?

The day after I was put on bedrest, I had laryngitis so bad I couldn't even whisper. I literally had NO voice for almost 7 days and then it started very slowy coming back. I was afraid I would never talk again...lol. I wasn't sick, just had NO voice. It was hard b/c everyone kept calling me after they found out I was on bedrest and I coudln't speak!

Happened to me for the last 2-3 mos of my pg. I was told it was because I had such severe reflux that my vocal chords were damaged (temporarily). I got my voice back the day I delivered. Mine was literally gone for that whole time...amazing what pg can do to your body!!!

It could be due to the extra mucus the preggo body likes to make is causing you to be stuffy at night and sleep w/ your mouth open, thus drying out your throat leading to your raspy or froggy voice. having the hot weather outside and running the a/c doesn't help and the reflux thing PP mentioned is also possible trigger. I remember waking up after an especially vivid dream to cry out to DH and found I couldn't talk. Maybe try sleeping w/ a vaporizer and see if it helps.
