Okay, so I went for my routine NST and I was contracting every 5-7 min. So, then sent me to L &D. I got there and by then I was contracting every 3-4 min. (strong contractions). So, they checked me and I was a 1. But, then the doctor ordered a turb. shot? this confused me b/c I thought I was past the point of the doctor trying to stop contractions...? Then, I started bleeding....the nurse did a rough exam. But, then they sent me home? I am still contracting off and on. I went in today for another NST and only had 2 contractions in 20 min. so, they sent me home. I am really confused because I thought this was it and that I was going to have the babies...and I didn't. I am at my breaking point. I can't sleep, irritated 24/7, and just miserable. I think I just need some encouragement. Oh, and my MIL is driving me nuts...she moved in with us. God help me. Anyway, that is my vent. THanks for reading. Does anyone think I will go soon? Oh and I have been cleaning like crazy!!!!!

I had an NST today and I am already taking trebutline, I was a half hour past my dose and contracting every four minutes-and I am dilated to a 3 (have been for 3 weeks) and I have been sent home as well. I think that once you get to 36 weeks they will stop trying to stop it?????? I hope you feel better soon!

Sorry you are miserable. Every doctor is different I guess on when they will try to stop contractions. My doctor said he would try to stop them up to 36 weeks. You are almost there!

I had a similar situation as far as being medicated. They said they would stop giving me meds to stop contractions at 34 weeks. At 35 weeks I was back in L&D and they gave me brethine. When that didn't stop the contractions- they gave me a c-section. They said they wanted to see if it was real labor. If it's real labor, the meds will not stop the contractions. They said the reason they c-sectioned me instead of sending me home was because I have had 2 prior c-sections and they were worried about the scar tissue being pulled and my uterus rupturing.

I don't really have any advice, just wanted to try to encourage you that you are almost there and pretty soon you will be holding your babies and all of this will be a distant memory. Good luck. :hug99:

Happy New Year, Shannon! Sorry your MIL is driving you crazy :hug99:

I just want to say, wagging my finger at you ;) (as if you need that with a MIL in the house )
TAKE IT EASY and stop cleaning! 31 wks is still so little. Keep those babies in there as long as you can. I know you're miserable, but IMO I think it's a good thing they stopped the labor.

    :hug99: hang in there!

Hang in there! One of my docs prescribed me terbutaline during a preterm labor scare during a previous pregnancy, but the other older doc at my practice told me that if a woman's going into labor, terbutaline IS NOT going to stop labor. So maybe you body wasn't quite ready for the labor?

You're going to make it. . . I couldn't predict when you'll go. But sounds like your body is getting warmed up for sure. I hope you feel some physical and emotional relief very soon. If anything, you're going to have a very clean house, it sounds like. :) I wish you the best! And that you're holding healthy ones at the perfect, right time for you and them!

For the sake of your sanity, I hope you go soon! I know you've got to be getting anxious and tired by now. But...you're doing great and your healthy babies are going to be SO worth it!! Hang in there...almost done!

They are probably trying to get you to at least 36-37 weeks. The longer they are in there, the more developed their lungs will be. I hope that you are feeling well. You are ALMOST THERE!!!

Despite my complete understanding and empathy for your condition, especially the pain, not sleeping and just wanting to be done with this, you have MOST of my empathy at having your MIL with you. DEAR GOD - how long is she staying???????? Im saying a prayer that its fast!

Really, I think it is my MIL that really drvies me nuts. She has moved in "forever". She has major drama in her life and had no job or money....so, here we come to the rescue.

Thanks for all of the great words of encouragement!!
