My 2 1/2 yr old DD is potty training and it seems like she's having to constantly pee. She doesn't tell me she has to go, but I have to keep a constant eye on her for leakage, because it seems like very soon after going, she ends up wetting herself again. She knows how to push the pee out with her muscles, and she's motivated to put it in a potty and be training, but I just don't know if I can handle constant trips to the bathroom. Plus, I'm pregnant, so I have to pee constantly and am just plain worn out. Is peeing this frequently something normal, or do you think it warrants a call to the ped? She has no fever and no c/o pain, so I'm not thinking bladder infection, but who knows? I've also heard it's a sign of diabetes, but wouldn't I have known that by now? That scares me to death. Sometimes webMD is not a good thing.

Does she drink all the time? The girls are potty training now (well one is done and the other is just starting) and in daycare they are no longer allowed sippy cups so that they don't drink a ton all day long. Also I did notice when my DD started training she would do that. Pee and then a short time later pee a little bit again. It has been about 3 weeks now and she doesn't do that anymore. She gets a pretty good amount of pee out each time she goes and can go a 2 - 3 hours between pees.

I had a boyfriend once with diabetes and he had vision problems and was thirsty all the time, really thirsty. We are talking drinking pitchers of water at a time thirsty before he learned that he was diabetic. I think he was like 14 when he found out.

Some days are like that aroudn here. In the beggining he was wanting the reward so much he wanted to go often. It was a phase, mostly. Right now we are in the phase where everywhere we go he wants to go potty to see it! I have noticed, right before or when he is trying to poop he goes a lot more often close together.

I was told that when training to set an alarm for 20 min and when you're done set it again for 20 min. Every 20 min to put them on the potty. It worked for ds #1. Sometimes he went pee that often and other times it just was to help get him in the habit.

Thanks all! She's now going once an hour, and I think the pp was right, she seemed to want the rewards so often, and thus needed the potty alot at first. Day 2 though I offered less fluids and put her on a potty schedule, and that worked very well. We've had 3 days now with only one teensy accident a day!

I was just going to offer the same advice as pp, but I see you've come up with a solution! Stick to it, sounds like she is doing great!
