Free Kolcraft Double Stroller

So after speaking with Kolcraft for the past few days I finally ordered it! The stroller itself is free, but the shipping to Hawaii is about $85. They are going to be sending me the Jeep Traveler Tandem Stroller. I will have to let you all know when it arrives here!

I've read (after googling about it) that if you have someone in the US that you can get it shipped to and then they can ship it from them to you, then you can do it that way. Maybe they'll let you pay the extra shipping price like they did for me to Hawaii though! I'd definitely check into it!

Oh and I didn't mention, they didn't ask for birth certificates or anything

What number did you call. I went to their website and called the number on there and the lady told me they had no multiple programs. I am very confused!

 

I called the 800 number on their website and asked to talk to Nedda. I just received my stroller 2 days ago!

 

It works, I just recieved my walker 2 or 3 days ago

 

I called them. The lady was very evasive and said there was no multiple discount program. After pressing her that that was not my understanding, she finally said they have "contributions" sometimes for twins or more, but I would have to pay shipping and provide proof and there are a series of steps I would have to go through - making it sound like a bother. She totally tried to get me off the phone! So I persisted and said so what if I sent a letter with a request for any available contributions with birth certificates. I also said I was more than willing to pay shipping. She got really gruff and admitted that yes, if I did send that information to the address on the website that someone would contact me with what "contribution" they were offering and what the cost of shipping would be - usually between 30-60 bucks. FUNNY! I am sending that letter - you can get the mailing address off the website. What the heck does she care? I think they are about to get blaset

 

Who are you ladies talking to? I talked w/ Nedda & Delilah. I actually first just EMAILED them and Delilah replied several times, then I called her ONCE to supply her with my mailing address & credit card information to pay for shipping.

It is not a multiples program. It is based solely on donations. They may not always have something they can just give.

I paid $85 shipping to me here in Hawaii. I did just manage to get a single stroller for my niece that is expecting & due in April. The shipping to her in Texas was only $15.

ETA: I never supplied them with any proof of multiples for mine.

I called and asked for Nedda but ended up speaking with someone else whom answered the phone. She was VERY helpful and I did have to fax her proof of birth but so be it, I paid shipping and got a walker. I would like toh ave gotten a stroller but maybe next time

 

I didn't realize that people still use walkers? I had already heard that they are unsafe and dangerous...at least that is what I've been hearing so we opted for a stationary exersauser.

Maybe I heard the wrong thing...any insight on any safety issues with the use of walkers from those who have one?

Beside..anything you can get for free is awesome right?

Walkers are illegal in Canada unfortunately, as far as I've heard its because too many kids fell down the stairs in them. Seems to me if thats the case its a case of bad parenting not the equipment. :unknw: But I could be mistaken. I have also heard they are thinking of banning the jumperoos, something about leaving your child in there too long especially if its a boy and damaging their junk, again parenting.

 

Some people view walkers as unsafe, some do not. It's a personal choice. A lot of people still use them. My brother in law actually took a trip down stairs in his walker when he was a little tike and the thing that saved him was his walker. If he had just fallen down the stairs, he probably would of been done for.

That being said, I opted for a exersaucer because I didn't want little ones pushing under my feet in their walkers.

 

I just emailed them, thank you SO MUCH for the tip! I've got my fingers crossed. I mentioned a need for swings, walkers, bassinets... I'm excited!

 

They're sending me two bassinets! I am so excited! I'm currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House while my girls are in NICU, so I passed the info on to the coordinator here. I thought she might share it where she sees a need. What a wonderful resource. Keep us posted if you find any more deals!
