So I have been EBF my DS, and pumping for my DD until now. Since we've started solids, and we've given DS the podee bottle his sister uses (he loves it, would NEVER take a bottle before!) a few times, getting him to nurse is just harder and harder.....now he'd rather have the bottle! I've made it 7 months, and if they get some formula, I'm OK with that. My question is, will any company give me cases of formula like I hear they do, even though they're already 7 months old? I have the time to call and ask if I need to, I just want to know if it's worth the effort, and which companies are the best for giving multiples free formula. I'll still continue to pump 4 times a day, but I suspect it won't be enough, and I'm OK with that, I just know how expensive formula is. I know I could rent a hospital grade pump, but to be honest, I just don't feel like I want to.

I can't say that I'm not looking forward to having them both on bottles and more of a schedule....we've been on "demand" basically since they were born, and I guess I'm just ready for this.

    Thanks,

    Jennifer :)

From what I understand, it's much harder to get free formula these days. Twins are becoming so common, formula companies are not handing it out like they used to. Before my girls left the NICU the nurses tried calling the formula rep several times to get me a case of formula and they wouldn't do it. Good luck, I hope you can find a way to do it and if you do please share with the rest of us.

My DDs pediatric office called the Enfamil rep for us. We got two cases of concentrate for free and then two cans of powder in the mail. The Similac rep didn't return their calls. The peds office then gave me 6 cans of powder for Organic Similac that they had as samples in their office since the rep wouldn't respond.

I called Nestle at 1-800-284-9488 and asked for my free twins gift and I got 6 cans of formula, 2 blankets and 2 mini photo albums. They did not ask for proof at all.

We have had ours covered by our insurance company (BCBS) as the twins have been on similac neosure and our doc writes out a prescription (which is ending at their 6 month I think :shok: and then we will have to pay out of pocket) It has been nice to not have this added expense so far.

Not sure about 'free' stuff sorry.

Lucky you Shannon, Our ins refused to flip the bill for the enfacare but we are using it as a tax write off. The boys were just released from it and now we use good start.

My Ped tried to find a Enfamil rep for our area but got the run around also. I did get a free sample from similac but I dont know if we'll use it.

I may just have to call Nestle on the free stuff, still havent gotten the birth certs yet lol.

Our ped had us fill out a paper, that she gave to her formula rep. They sent two cases at a time for a couple of months. It was really nice. It was a program our ped told us about. Maybe you could ask yours if they have any such thing.

We filled out paperwork through Enfamil at the hospital. We got a free case (six cans) of 8oz powder right there, then our ped gave us 4 more. Then we received two cases of it in the 12oz cans on Wed. We have had to only buy one can and that was today due to us being out of town for the weekend and running out (oooppppsss!). I wondered how long we get it, but it sounds like not for long....oh well, we have been blessed with it and appreciate it alot.

We filled out a form our pedi gave us when the girls were about 2 months old and received 2 cases (12 bottles) of Similac Advance ready to feed. I would definitely speak to your pedi about it.

our ped got enfamil to send us 2 cases of powdered enfacare cans. We are just on the last case now since we've just been supplementing BF. We also got 2 cans of similac in the mail. I don't know how or why it just showed up.
