Free car seats

I am not sure this is the same in all states but I found out a wonderful thing here in Montana, and all this talk about car seats I thought I would share....

We go to church with a highway patrolman and we went over to their house after church yesterday to pick up a crib they had and are lending us (yes Ashley has been sleeping in the PNP for 2 months... bad mommy) Anyway he told us he is the man certified to do the car seat checks in town and took a look at all our seats. Two were installed incorrectly out of the 4!!! WOWZERS!! Anyway he is having me come over on Thursday to install them all right. We get to visiting and find out that the highway patrol gives away (very nice) carseats for anyone!! He took me to the garage and showed me the brandnew in the box convertable carseats!! He is giving us two for the twins and a new highbacked booster for my 4 year old because hers is outdated!!! We have been putting off the convertable car seat thing for awhile because we didnt know how we could afford two new ones at the same time!! My girls are just about at the hight limit so this is perfect timing!!! (God's timing!!)

I was just wondering if everyone knew about this??? It is not well advertised here, but it is a state funded program for everyone to take advantage of. They also give them away to anyone who has been in an accident and then take their seats and dispose of them!! Cool huh??? Just thought I would share.

PS I have also heard that some hospitals do this too, but I have seen some of those seats and they dont "look as nice" but I am sure they are fine seats.... these though WERE AWESOME!! I am so excited!! Can you tell!?

 

SOunds good. I am going to check into in. I don't know how we will afford 2 carseats when they are ready to switch.

 

That would be wonderful. I wonder if arkansas has anything like that.

Yes, anytime you do a carseat inspection, they will give you a brand new car seat free if your child doesn't meet all the requirements or if it is not compatible with your vehicle.
